Z1 370z is here.

The car was picked up saturday night lowered Sunday evening. We put the I forged wheels on for test fitment. Hope you guys like it!

+1

Also the front looks too low...

Jimmydean 01-19-2009 11:21 AM

Whats the size/offset on those wheels/tires?

John@Z1 01-19-2009 11:25 AM

I'll post the dyno chart. We had those wheels sitting here from a G35. The wheels are 20X9.5 and 20X10.5 I forgot the offset.

msl82 01-19-2009 11:26 AM

Nice rims dude....

are the rear lowered?

LiquidZ 01-19-2009 11:31 AM

Pretty slick!

John@Z1 01-19-2009 11:45 AM

Dyno

zman1910 01-19-2009 11:51 AM

About what I expected from a dynojet. 20's are gonna be popular for the Z34 and are necessary, IMO, if you want fat lips.

Thanks Z1

RCZ 01-19-2009 11:56 AM

This seems more realistic as far as dyno numbers go... 280wheel sounds right. I'm not enjoying that torque figure though.

Crash 01-19-2009 12:51 PM

Not sure I like those wheels, but glad you guys picked white. :D

sprix! 01-19-2009 12:53 PM

I like the wheels, but the car looks like it is too low in front and not low enough in back. It seems like it might make the lip contact the ground.

BoBoTee 01-19-2009 12:56 PM

mmm pearl white:yum: The front is two low though.

Slidefox 01-19-2009 01:22 PM

Very Nice Guys!! Coilovers? Springs?

invazn 01-19-2009 01:48 PM

The front isn't too low. The rear is too high.

Scribe 01-19-2009 03:06 PM

Interesting to see. It looks like the sports pack will see less power at the wheels thanks to the extra effort to spin up the 19" wheels and 14" rotors. A base was dynoed slightly higher.

Makes sense.

How can you not enjoy such a flat torque curve? One of the many reasons why the VQ37VHR is superior to the DE is because it has a much flatter torque curve. Sure, peak torque numbers aren't really up significantly, but on the low-end and top-end, torque has a significant increase over the DE. Which is why it has higher hp numbers.

We used a combo I have the fronts taken back apart right now. And just installed a Nismo intake so maybe we will dyno again tonight. And yes the drop is too low we had to remove the front flaps before driving it out of the shop. Much more to come.

I will keep you guys informed as we go.

G in ny 01-19-2009 05:02 PM

what do u mean u used a combo? 350z springs?

ctzn 01-19-2009 05:04 PM

Beautiful, not a fan of the chrome wheels but looks great overall...

Look forward to seeing where you go with it.

Nismo intake? Where did this come from? The 350Z Nismo intake?

John@Z1 01-19-2009 05:56 PM

Yes

G in ny 01-19-2009 06:59 PM

so it mounts perfect? The intakes from the 360 HR motor?

This is a great find if it does

Namir 01-19-2009 07:16 PM

Dump the rear. Front looks dope.

John@Z1 01-19-2009 07:35 PM

Heat shields will not fit I will post pics tomorrow

We are just testing to see how much if any HP gain.

18rgcelica73 01-19-2009 08:17 PM

Yeah I agree that the front is way low but I actually really love the rake, looks like old school cars should, well since this is practically retro-styled to tht 240z

I can enjoy a flat curve when it plateaus at a higher number. Yes, when you compare it to the old car, or a honda civic for that matter, it is a great curve. But in the bigger scope of things, that is still 237wtq. I would have liked more torque.

:eekdance:DAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYUMMMMMM.:eekdance: Thats all I gotta say. Very nice.

What's the width of those tires?

John@Z1 01-20-2009 03:11 PM

Nismo

http://www.z1motorsports.com/imageGa...09_3.sized.jpg

bryan@Z1 01-20-2009 04:14 PM

The Nismo intake we test fit is the 07+ HR intake. Not a direct fit but pretty close, the heat shields had to be left off to make it work. Just something we're testing for now to see how it does on the dyno. We will putting a true 370Z specific intake kit into production soon.

The suspension is different from the 350Z and 350 springs / coilover are a no go. What is on the car now is a test set up strictly for the photos and to get some feedback as to how low we can go. Strictly R&D at this point and the car likely not be that low with the final design springs.

And lastly....Pearl White is dope!

That's all for now.

if those rims were a differnt color besides chrome it would look sick

dlmartin81 01-21-2009 06:17 PM

very nice! you could use a little wider tires imo.

could you post a pic of the front and rear views so we could see how wide the tires look from those angles?

thanks.

What are those flaps for? I've seen them on other cars as well but never understood what they were for. IMO, they look stupid but I'm sure the manufacturer put them on there for a reason. How import is that reason, I don't know.

CrownR426 01-22-2009 07:41 AM

+1 On sweet car.
Dunno about rims :ugh2:

RCZ 01-22-2009 08:46 PM

sweet you fixed the ride height on the front. Looks great now. Not my favorite wheels but it looks good. Nice drop.

370z 01-22-2009 09:32 PM

gawd....dyammm
