SES light coming on a lot now. Help?

So my car just passed 52k miles. Before it would only come on for a couple days then go away for months. Had it checked out by the dealer and they told me it's due to bad spark plugs. So I had them changed and now the SES light comes on more than before. The car feels better with new plugs though. I have no more warranty trying to find the easiest solution here in Vegas. Any thoughts and or help?

Get a code reader. Because of these new-fangled computers in cars, we are all useless without codes

I might as well let the dealer check it out for $120. Even if I had a code reader, I won't be able to do anything with it.

... So... Why did you come here for help?

You can get the code read for free. It might be something we can help with or help you get less fùcked on.

Most auto parts stores will loan/rent you a code scanner.

Or you can buy one for as little as $20 or so. As per DEpointfive0, a scanner is pretty much a necessity when working on newer cars. Well worth the small investment.

invest in one of these
GoPoint BT1 | GoPoint
.. the dealer is gonna charge you 120 .. the plug is around 100 bucks 10 bucks for the program on your phone . its well worth it . not only can you pull code but it will display live data .. you will never have to wonder again for a one time investment . also if you have a app radio you can show live data on your head unit . i have a pioneer avic and i love this feature .. most likely if you get the code and let us know we can help you . my advice save your 120 and get this instead .. great investment ..

I use a 10yr+ old actron... works fine.

Just download the list of dtc and save it on your phone to reference.
