Correct foot/lbs for lugnuts?

Anyone know which page of the owners manual tells the correct ft/lbs of torque for the wheel lugnuts? I know it's 80 ft lbs from another thread but I just want to see it in the manual. Ive looked but maybe I'm just blind:icon14:

rAiN 10-10-2012 01:56 PM

80 ft/lbs on page WT-46 of the service manual, or page 6-7 of the Owner's Manual.

FWIW, it's page WT-99 in the 2009 FSM - "Wheel nut tighting torque 108 N·m (11 kg-m, 80 ft-lb)"

Guess I should have mentioned the service manual I quoted was the 2012 version...

Does anybody know what size oem lug nut that is for the rays rim. Trying to buy a nice socket and breaker bar online while at work. The oem one is weak as far as leverage goes. Thanks

I work in a tire shop and according to our system and the annually sent out torque charts from Michelin, say for our vehicle 70-87 but we always go with the max which is 87.

travisjb 11-24-2012 12:28 PM

I use 85-90 at the track set with this:
Brown Line Metal Works BLD0212 Digital Torque Wrench : Amazon.com : Automotive

kenchan 11-28-2012 11:21 AM

i use 83-85 and re-torque a few times.

on my snap-on traditional torque wrench (twisty handle dial with value etched into the shaft) i need to turn down the dial to the minimum value after use. is that the same way on the digital ones? ive not tried a digital one...

DR_ 11-28-2012 12:39 PM

No you do not need to turn down the dial on the Brown Line one on Amazon. It says it on that page listed.

GraphiteZ 02-15-2013 04:22 PM

Just a stupid question. If I want to check the torque of the wheel lugnuts, can I do it with 4 wheels on the ground? Or the car needs to be up?

Tazicon 02-15-2013 04:50 PM

Even though I knew the answer I am glad I clicked on this thread. Just bought these thanks for the link.

This thread was answered in the first 2 posts but yet now has 28 responses you guys need to find better sh!t to talk about instead of the torque of lug nuts.

There is a thread in the general section on toe nail clipping and the proper angle on the clippers, proper force to apply, plus what to do if you draw blood.:shakes head:

There is some good information in this thread during those 28 responses. Maybe if you read them you would understand. There is information not only on torque, but has sockets (couple different sets) and torque wrench information as well.
