Turning off Maintenance Message
Ok, a little help here. I bought a low mileage 2014 370Z in May and have been enjoying it. But Last week a message popped up on the Nav screen indicating that it was 5000 miles time for an oil change. Ok, all well and good. So, I changed the oil and have tried unsuccessfully to turn off the message. It pops up every time I start the car. I've read the manual and even found videos on YouTube that show how to reset it and turn off the message, but so far, nada. I've tried resetting it by following the instructions, but all I've been able to do is reset the number of miles I've driven since my last attempt. So, I give up how do I reset this so it doesn't pop up like the Ghost of Christmas Past every time I fire up the car.

Found this on page 2-23 in my 2010 manual: I think all you have to do is reset the 5000 miles to 0. Each time you start the car, you are over the 5000 mile schedule, so it keeps popping up. Keep the mileage for the alert at 5000 (or whatever you change your oil at), but you have to start back to zero.
MAINTENANCE: The maintenance intervals of the following items can be set or reset for the reminders. . OIL Select this submenu to set or reset the distance for changing the engine oil. . FILTER Select this submenu to set or reset the distance for replacing the oil filter. . TIRE Select this submenu to set or reset the distance for replacing tires. . OTHER Select this submenu and set or reset the distance for replacing items other than the engine oil, oil filter and tires. To return to the top page of the setting mode, select “BACK”. |
Ok, thanks for the info. I thought I had tried that, but perhaps not. I will give it a shot.

Still no luck
Ok, I've tried everything suggested and nothing has worked; I'm still getting the message every time I start the car. On the readout there are two numbers. The one on the left apparently is the miles since the last oil change, the one on the right seems to be the interval, in this case 5000 miles. I've reset both a number of times and, nada, zip, zilch. Any other thoughts? If not I guess the next step is to take it to my mechanic and if he can't figure it out, it's off the dealer! It shouldn't be this difficult!

On my Murano the maintenance reminders have to be turned off on both the Nav screen and on the rectangular display to the side of the instruments. Resetting the data on either of them is not enough. Both displays each have to manipulated...

I believe that you have to select the SETTINGS option and scroll through the intervals until you blank to zero.
I also believe that you may be able to reset the battery and this will reset your maintenance intervals (similar to trip reset). |
