Someone spilled coffee
All over my passenger seat, the one with the leather and heated seats.
After trying to dry it out with towels, I sprayed it with Lysol and perfume to try and get rid of the smell... and its still there. Its like the 4th day and the smell of sweet hazelnuts still haunts me every time I get in the car. What can I do to get rid of this smell and have it back to the original car smell? will it go away on its own? I now drive with the windows down to try and ventilate but I guess the seat still has some coffee absorbed in it.... |

It could be worse. In college, a buddy of mine had a 1972 Chevelle SS. On a particularly decandent night of heavy drinking, one of his friends blew chunks all over the dash board with a great amount of it finding its way down the defroster bents. Even years later, every time he engaged the heat or the defroster the car smelled like puke. Count your blessings and follow Onzedge™ Z Owner Rule #142: No beverages besides water in the car... |
Damn. Thats why I dont allow anything besides water in my Z. Try oxyclean. Best of luck
|
You violated Z code and you are a Bad Boy. Soap, water, soft bristle brush and a shop vac should do the trick. Repeat as necessary and leave your windows down to air out.
|
Fibrezze spray too.
|
throw some baking soda on top of the area the coffee was spilled. Let it sit there for a few minutes then vaccuum it up

Can of Ozium, if it can take the pot smell out of a car im sure it can take out some coffee
|
Park it under the sun, focus beams on the chair, windows down. It'll take a while so be patient.
|
Steam clean it.
|
You could try a car detailer. :ugh2:

i agree with onzedge... although when i was installing my hushmats i found atleast 1 can of pop spilled in the spare wheel well AND another spill on and around the ECU (luckily just the cover plate and not the electronics)
i'd be careful with cleaning products on your seats.. may end up bleaching and or damaging them. check the cleaning products prior to use OR (more expensive) go to a detailer |

Suddenly the image comes to my mind of the Cheech & Chong movie where the car was so full of smoke that they didn't know they were stopped in the median of the road. |

This now becomes the place to stash your kilo's. The coffee smell throws the dogs off.

I always knew coffee spills were a gateway to dealing cocaine :icon17:

At least it's not snail tracks.

An ozone generator is often used to get smoke smells out after fires. It will remove cigarette smoke from interiors of cars. It SHOULD also be able to get rid of your coffee smell. I'd give it a shot.

good luck and no drinks in the Z from now on ;) |
Have the person who spilled the coffee buy you a pair of the Recaro seats from the 2015 Nismo. It's the only fair solution.
