Z needs more publicity!

Have you guys ever noticed that when coupe/convert sports cars are shown and compared in C&D, Motortrend etc, very rarely do you see a Z thrown into the mix...why is that?

Kinda lame...

Because our car is really in a little niche of its own. I am glad they don't blast the 370 all over everyone car site, keeps the wanna be enthusiasts away and in their base BMWs etc.

dP3NGU1N 01-15-2015 04:07 PM

True. Don't properly compete in price with anything under $30k. And we're not as refined or as fast as the more expensive offerings. Everything actually at our price range are doing different things. Subie with the sti is AWD. The rest are muscle cars. The premium sports cars are in a much higher price bracket (Porsche, c7, m4, amg, etc.) and come with far more refined packages even if power is similar (thinking cayman).

Like terrible one mentioned. Nothing is a good orange to oranges comparison for us.

kenchan 01-15-2015 04:13 PM

cause our cars are committed to being an inexpensive useless car... which in reality is pretty expensive for a poor folk. lol

Bshields22 01-15-2015 04:16 PM

Ya I guess that all makes sense. Just wish people knew how fun and awesome this little golden nugget is. This is my second 370. Had the coupe first, now trying the convert (sport and touring package)

Tadpole 01-15-2015 04:17 PM

Nissans commercials are pretty lame too with an occasional flash of the Z and GTR. They blow up the Altima and Maxima tho.

kenchan 01-15-2015 04:21 PM

yah, like that commercial..get treated like royalty in the all new altima...

WTF mang... it's a f-king glorified sentra for poor people.

1st 01-15-2015 04:26 PM

Shhhh keep it on the DOWN LOW wouldn't want my Z to be another vette, stang, wrx....instead prefer having it be a rare GEM!

:rofl2:

altima's are nice cars yes they are  sentra even better!

Bshields22 01-15-2015 04:34 PM

Ya dude! even the commercials don't show them. I understand its not their bread and butter...but even LEXUS is showing their LFA and now F's in commercial when they show their line up....

well, they are trying to compete with the flashy douches... you know them particular euro folk type..

kenchan 01-15-2015 04:38 PM

real 370z folks dont need that glamour. we are car guys, not flashy folks.

TerribleONE 01-15-2015 04:44 PM

Dude you don't even have a Z... its photo shopped.

Read T 01-15-2015 04:49 PM

Most car comparisons are a fairly new car. The 370Z is 6 years old and due for replacement.

My wife has a '13 Sentra. The acceleration makes me cry sometimes. It's great on gas though.

ive driven the new one at hertz when i was on a biz trip. honestly i thought i was driving an altima as it felt so much roomier than the last sentra i drove...which was back in 1990. :ugh:

DOOMMONKEY777 01-15-2015 06:11 PM

New type of Porsche?

mishuko 01-15-2015 07:41 PM

Yes the new body style sentras are really very nice cars. My wife has the SL model with bose, nav, leather, backup camera, moonroof, huge trunk, and plenty of leg room in the back. The CVT transmission is weird but you can't beat 35 plus miles per gallon with them. I also think they are nicer than the altimas.

brucelidat 01-15-2015 09:37 PM

It gets no press because it's an old car that hasn't really been updated. There will be plenty of press for the new one when it comes out.

Zoren 370 01-15-2015 09:46 PM

Yes is because its already a 5 year old car.

But Im impressed how the BrZ/scion twin brought the house down in every car magazine even landed a spot on the top motor-trend drag race.

brucelidat 01-15-2015 09:54 PM

This will be the 7th model year for the 370

That car had no business being in that race. I thought motor trend insulted them just to prove on how slow they really are.

kenchan 01-16-2015 03:38 PM

meh, im sure these car mag folks get treated like royalty before the press releases.

here, have fun with this box of free cool toys just for you! <= subaru/scion

wow great car! <= press

here, have fun with this nismo sticker and such <= nissan

forget the z mang..NOT COOL :shakes head: <= press

Masterbeatty 01-16-2015 04:12 PM

Because you can review a car so many times before people loose interest.

Duc_Z09 01-16-2015 04:49 PM

I'm glad not many people know about it. I've even been asked what kind of Porsche I drive... lol.:rofl2:

Worst (newish) car I ever drove was the Versa I had as a rental in Hawaii the other year. God what a turd!:shakes head: No wonder nobody thinks about Nissan when they look for a performance car.

Bananaz 01-17-2015 01:15 AM

I kind of like the fact not many people have this car. Makes it a little more special. Especially gping to car shows and stuff I think fall nationals at raceway park there was me and maybe 3 other 370's..at the last biggest event of the season.

Yup....7 years in with essentially the same car. Can't get them excited. People want to read about the new models arriving.

I rented one of the last generation Sentras a few years ago. Aside from it looking like a** it was a great little car. If the current generation is as good a car in the new packaging they ought to sell a ton of 'em.
OTOH, a friend of mine has a brand new Altima 3.5S (with the 6 and all the things that come with the 3.5s) Simply awesome. The new Sentras are real nice but not in the same league as the 3.5 Altimas, IMO.

I still remember the days when Nissan (Datsun) would up the ante on the Z every ?4? years (240, 260,280...).

I agree with what was mentioned by others: it's an old design. Back in 2009, the 370 was heavily advertised on TV and in the movie theaters. Heck, I really felt good when I could hear moviegoers raved about it.

Your very correct. Car sales truck sales have many factors/formulas for success and usually a combo of features that make it.

370z takes someone with some dough, cares less about any form of storage etc.

That no back seat whatsoever can be a killer for alot why alot of cheaper sports orientated cars have one.

That and think of the non enthusiast. Unless he just likes the 370z he can find alot of value for space/performance with say a WRX STI. Look at the 4's with Turbos that have pretty decent specs for what they charge for.

I guess you can't do that commercial with actual car enthusiasts. Can you imagine someone who has ever driven full speed on a track riding in a stock Altima and thinking it was a real race car? Nope! lol

We traded a 2000 Sentra with 48K miles on it for the Z in 2011. Pretty nice upgrade if you ask me :rofl2:

HEK 01-26-2015 08:43 AM

I'm glad I don't see Z commercials anywhere, funny thing is that I don't even remember seeing a Z in any of the F&F's movies as well ...correct me if I'm "rong" :driving:
