I felt really my Z runs better just after I put that Valvoline's. Faster response like a new (now hitting 100K miles around) About the Techron no idea yet cuz I just put it hours ago.

Any brand of FS cleaner highly recommended ?? Well.. I tried to ask at the BITOG, but my membership is still pending that I write this post here.

Alternatively I'd strongly suggest heading over to your local lube shop and asking for a fuel system flush . They plug the cleaning agent straight to the injectors and ti. The car for 15-20 mins for it to clean and voila. That's probably your safest and best bet. Other wise the additives to the fuel tank can mess or clog your fuel filter and you'll have issues with that as I am at the moment for using the Z MAX cleaners.

IIRC, the Z doesn't have an inline fuel filter, the only one is the strainer on the fuel pump. FWIW, I run the small bottle of Lucas with every tank and a bottle of SeaFoam at every oil change. I started doing this with my Malibu, (it also had no inline fuel filter) and up until I sold the Malibu, I'd get a consistent 30+ mpg on the highway out of the V6, even at 150k miles. Just my

Bumping this. Has anyone had any issues with the use of techron fuel system cleaner? At 30k miles, im wanting to use something to clean the fuel system, just in case, but am a bit worried about any long term issues, if any. Ive used fuel system cleaners in other cars without any problems, but i do ask because of what ive read regarding nissan not recommending using additives and/or cleaners of this type. Thanks guys

If you want to feel more comfortable, then keep using top-tier gas stations.

They already contain enough engine cleaning additives in their gas. For example, that Techron is basically included in Chevron gas.

Thanks felix. No chevron in PR, and the only supposedly top tier gas station that i know, i dont trust. I felt the car sort of hesitate or a lag response when using this gas, maybe a placebo/butt dyno effect. I know others with Z's in PR constantly use this gas and get mixed responses(some like it, other complain about the same lag feeling)

You should look into Shell V- power. The additives have good cleaning properties to reduce carbon build up and maintain the injectors. But still the only way to maintain the injectors with high mileage is to pull them out and have them flow tested and cleaned properly.

I can't agree more on the Sea Foam that others have mentioned. I've been using it in ALL of my vehicles since about 2000. First time I heard about it was in a Gold Wing forum. Bought a used Wing that was running a little rough with a flat spot right off idle. I used a can of Sea Form in all of my fill ups and within 500 miles, the bike was running like a Japanese watch

I now put a can in the gas tank at every oil change and swear by this stuff. It is even used when I store the Z for 6 months during the winter. Car has started first crank every Spring.

Thanks for the replies, guys! Shell was all i ever put on the Z until they stopped bringing 93oct to PR and caused the car to hesitate between 3-4k rpms. When i switched to ecomaxx 93oct, the hesitation was gone! The thing with ecomaxx is that i havent really found info regarding if its top tier gas or not.

Regarding seafoam, i used it on my wrx a few times and really seemed to work on the 90k mile engine at that time. I will also consider seafoam in the future.

Ill try the techron for the time being. Again, for 30k miles, im assuming the fuel system cant be that bad, but any bit of help is always a good thing.

Use Techron every 5,000 miles right before an oil change. And preferably when it is being used as a daily driver and not in a gas tank that will be burned up on a long drive. I think the "dwell time" is better if you do 350 on a tank miles in a couple of weeks instead of one day.
Next, add 6 oz of Marvel Mystery Oil to a tank every couple thousand miles. It seems to help with the sticky fuel level sensor that gives strange gas tank readings and is good for the fuel system too.
There is a lot of crap in gasoline today and preventive maintenance is the way to go.
