Questions about the Z
I have been reading the forums for a while now. I know I want the Z but am in grad school at WVU at the moment cant afford it. I hope to have a job in DC area in december and looking to get a z. Does anyone that lives in that area have a idea of the insurance costs. I just want to get an idea of how much I should figure on before i buy it. also is their any good dealerships to check them out when i get there?
Thanks in advance you guys are great.

Send a PM to DooDooBrown, he lives in WV, and works in the DC area.
Don't Think A Z would work, what do you think??

If you are under 25 and average driving record, it will be about 150-200 a month. If you are over 25 but under 30 with average driving record it will be about 100-150 a month.

I wouldn't rely on other people's numbers. Insurance is so specific to the individual, I don't know if you will get an accurate number.
And please, don't take this as an ******* comment, but if you're in a spot where you have to take insurance into your calculations, you may be stretching yourself pretty thin. I just don't want to see anyone get into a spot where their car owns them, instead of the other way around. |

Sometimes I do wonder if insurance companies just pull a number out of thin air. There's an insurance thread around here somewhere.... |

As for insurance companies, I rarely say this about anything, but they need governmental regulation. What they are allowed to base rates on is crazy. |

"getting a job" and buying a new car is not smart...having a job, and as much knowledge as possible to know the future stability of said job, is a big factor. Buying cash, of course, is best! Myself, I had a good annual review, that gave me some confidence just before I had a week off - bought the Z before the week was up - lol. |

Z insurance is high. much higher than most cars.
sports car, 2 seater, low numbers, etc.. im 29, clean record, and pay about 100 a month full coverage with rental insurance too.. i think that is pretty high. make sure you shop around because prices vary greatly. gluck! Last edited by Steven; 10-10-2009 at 10:05 AM. |
