On the same note, the brakes that come with the Sport package don't hold a candle to the 380mm, 6-piston StopTech kit. |

That said, it's also about how much you want to spend. For me, sport package....the wheels mostly. Same with the touring package - I wanted leather seats. |

"Quite high" based on what??
Bose's marketing department? Don't be a lemming, read both of the below links. Even Lou Reed has an opinion ... Bose BLOWS. What about Bose? Part 1 : Home Theater Blog | Home Theater News & Reviews What about Bose? Part 2 : Home Theater Blog | Home Theater News & Reviews "July 2004 issue of MONEY has an evaluation of speakers by Lou Reed listening to his own (and other) music. He loved the Klipsch, liked the MartinLogan (except they didn't work at high volume), thought the B&W over-priced average speakers, dismissed the Infinity's as "so so" but with little bass, and hated the Bose (no midrange and he'd pay money NOT to hear them). I wonder if Bose will sue him and Money." Last edited by dweedlebug; 10-08-2009 at 10:00 AM. |

It is my opinion that hi quality sound systems in cars are a total waste of money. The acoustic qualities in a car is one of the worst environments for sound, particularly in the Z. The two things you will be paying for in a quality system is volume (amp power) and signal to noise ratio. Ok power you can use but signal to noise, forget it. I think the sound system in my Z is more than adequate anything more is overkill. As I said this my opinion only.

The Bose system of the Touring package is quite good if the audio source is not from AM/FM radio.
Otherwise, I am very happy with the Bose system when the audio source is from Itouch/Ipod, hard disk, etc. It would be much better if the car has less road noise. |

The Bose system does the job and nicely. If I want to listen to HiFi music, I'll listen in my living room on my Rotel/B&W system. Frankly, I prefer to drive with my stereo OFF as I'd much prefer the symphony of the engine and exhaust. |

The Bose in my Vette is VERY, very good. From what I gather, the Bose in the upcoming 370Z Roadster will be a bit different (improved) than that in the current 370Z. If the 370Z Roadster Bose is on par with the Vette Bose, I will have absolutely no complaints.
Aftermaket systems sure do sound outstanding, but I must admit, perhaps the best factory system I have ever heard is the Mark Levinson in my Lexus (current IS350 and previous SC430). |

Then again, I have audio recording monitors (M-Audio BX-8A's) sitting on my desk at home to compare everything against...lol For my needs in the Z, the bose system is OK. Like I said, it's better sounding that most OEM systems, but doesn't hold a candle to an aftermarket system. I might change it out. I probably won't. 6-disc changer and bluetooth...I'd have to check around if there are others that do that (or in addition have a HDD, GPS would be bonus, but not required)...that plus about 2000w of amp for the sub(s), plus another 1K to go around to the rest. CLEAN power > loud distorted. |

I agree with spearfish as well because I bought the base+sports package and the stock radio / audio sucks so bad....too weak to hear your music when your crusing with your windows down and just when you crank it up a bit. It sounds horrible. My mom's 08 Altima coupe has Bose and it's awesome and when I had my old 05 350Z touring the Bose was pretty good too. I know Nissan and Bose didn't make them to be like a Mercedes or BMW. But you gotta give them props for trying and sounding better than the stock radio while conserving space in the trunk with the crazy subwoofer idea. Anything is better than the stock imo. And not to mention Bose does have a REALLY high reputation. But those are just my two cents.

Anyone heard the new Bose vs. the 350Z's Bose? I find the 350Z's just barely good enough not to replace and was curious if the 370Z's was better or worse.

Some people like rollin clubs. That's me... in my opinion. Being an audiophile.
And the thread having an audiophile connotation to it. The BOSE system is inadequate. Aftermarket speakers in many price ranges are superior. From infinity to focal u can make a better system in this car. Agreed that the Z is terrible for acoustics. BUT There are plenty of high quality components that's can turn the Z's handicap into an attribute. Certain speaker and dampening materials can actually make your Z bounce around sounds to near flawless quality. 300w rms to the front/50w rms rear is possible and would work perfectly in the Z considering you use advanced crossovers &eq. Your sub you would run 300wrms@4ohms It will sound good. Most will tell u the rear speaker isn't necessary but it can handle your lows in stereo while your sub pushes your lows in mono. . Or u can negate the rear speakers if ur really against it or not into using crossovers and add a fosgateibeem tactile transducer. U can also use it as a sub amp and add some bass shake into your Z "bruh". |
