Hit and Run.. Depressed.
 

I'm still new to the forums. I've only had my new Z starting end July '14. Took my girlfriend out for dinner on thanksgiving. 11pm in a "non-shady" area. Parking lot was completely empty. Came back to car with this dent. (Sorry for bad image, I will upload new one when I can).

I always park in my garage at home so no dent is possible there. I strongly believe it happened two days before christmas which is when I went to school for an exam and left it park in the school garage. I mean I think the alarm would go off after a dent and the this is the only scenario where I wouldn't hear the alarm go off.

Fast forward to today, I don't know what to do. I don't have that much extra money to repair cost. My deductible would be $500 as I have two way insurance but I don't know if its worth it. I don't know where to go from here. Have not called cops or insurance yet.

your rates on insurance won't go up, you were not in the car when this happened, it was a hit and run. call the cops for at least a police report. Call insurance, get a high estimate from your local shop, since you have a 2014, oem parts are expensive so your estimate should be more than 500 easily once you get the check, fix it, bam you're set.

Yep i had one of those already, it sux i know. I was egged also, but my car is white soo no marks, but i have seen red G37 and a r brand new red Ferrari egged right by Rasputin restaurant here on coney island.

Also be glad no one ran u over, just recently a member here was hit in the back, he came out to exchange info the guy that hit him ran him over and ran, got caught by cops that day.

dont take this as me being a know it all plz im just speaking from my exp . your rates will not go up yes but this is not completely true . this exact thing happened to me about 3 years ago . car got hit in a parking lot and actually crushed the quarter from the door to the tail light . called the ins had it fixed . no harm no foul . so when i went to buy my z last summer i called to get a quote on my ins and it popped up that i had a no fault claim on my ins and my ins was actually 35 more a month until the 3 year mark from when this happened was . it blew my mind and actually got me pretty upset . no my ins didnt go up when it happened but they do hold it against you . the pic is hard to see . is it just the bumper cover ? or did it get the headlight and fender too ? if its just the bumper id try and find one of the companies that does on the car ( like dealer lot work or a small damage repair shop ) usually they can just heat up the cover and pop it back out . even if they had to paint the entire bumper your prolly only looking at about 300 bucks to fix it . a lot of the on the car guys actually do pretty decent work . you can always ask them to show you a car they have done on the lot where there working to get an idea of there quality . this route will save you from
A a mark on car fax
B ins company holding the no fault accident against you later as they did to me
C you get to save a few bucks considering your gonna pay a 500 dollar decuctable anyway .

Totally sux...but I wouldn't place a claim. Deal with the eye sore until you have a bit of cash to pay out of pocket. Why risk the rate increase on this amount of damage? Just my $.02 again sorry this happens lousy people suck!

I can have my car parked on the road and someone slams right into it. It will still count against me and my premium goes up. Anything that happens to your car that's not your fault with an exception to weather related (hail, hurricane wind forcing a tree on top of the car, flood) will still count against you.

Id follow those bastards and beat them to death make them clean it and eat it off the car, call their parents and beat their asses too.

in ny, long island, someone hit my brothers car in a parking lot, it was a hit and run. we call the cops, made a report, called insurance (allstate), went to a local shop, got a estimate, went to my insurance adjuster, they made a estimate, 3k. got the car fixed for 1k. pocketed 2k. allstate and my agent said, our rates will not go up due to the fact no one was in the car when this happened. (hit and run). just going by what happened to us, this was last week.

Can you pop it out with paintless dent removal?
