Default Pros and cons, Nismo vs Sports package?

It appears that there is only a very small difference in power between a Nismo and a sports package coupe. If one is not interested in getting to a race track but does drive fast and aggressive, on highways and city streets, is there sufficient reasons for going for a Nismo?

The nismo has an upgraded suspension as well. I have a sport touring and added wheel spacers and swift springs. For 300 bucks, the springs were well worth it. It handles so much better and you don't sacrifice too much ride quality. Just the right amount of in between in my opinion. If you can get a nismo for a good price, don't hesitate. I think the nismo is for people who want a more sportier feel without having to touch the car,ie modding.

I agree

I would only go with Nismo for the looks (I think the car is stunning) but not for power, the Nismo isn't faster than a base 370z

I thought the Nismo stock has more hp than base/sport/touring stock....
Doesn't that mean more power= faster

and the list goes on. IMO it boils down to this, if you have the money and it's no issue you'll never even look at the base model. Let's be honest, the Nismo, just like the M3, SRT8, ISF or AMG's are the exclusive cars of the brand and all out just look better and have a few better options, but at the least, when it's all said and done you'll have the top model of that specific car brand and thats worth a lot to me cause one of my last cars was a M3 and my two current cars are a Nismo and SRT8 and as bad as I wanted a Porsche, I can honestly say that I couldn't afford the 991 Turbo and wouldn't feel right driving anything less than a Turbo model and even the 997 was a bit much for me to spend on a used Porsche. No disrespect, just my opinion.
/\ I kinda have the same mentality. I'd rather have a top of the line whatever than entry or mid level of the next higher up car. Ie. If I were to get vette, it'd be a z06. A Porsche, it'd be a cayman r or gts bc a 911 gt3 or turbo is way outta my range etc.

1. fully loaded version
2. comes already track ready, no need for exhaust or any suspension work
3. knowing i have the power behind a car
4. the body style is sooo sexy and makes it a unique car on the road
5. we all know this one, any 370z breaks necks
1. Makes sense
2. It's not very track ready but just like any other z car it doesn't take much to get it there if you are just starting out and as you get more experienced, you'll mod the car as needed based on the shortcomings you have on track. One note about the aero, at least as far as the 09-14 nismos are concerned the aero is functional, don't know about the new 15 nismos yet.
3. Um ok
4. Personal preference but I agree
5. See #3

The stiffer suspension means it doesn't hook up as well for straight line performance like 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Also, 18 more hp at 350 hp total is nelgible.

From what others have told me, the added 18 hp barely offsets the extra weight.

I've been told the extra HP comes at the top of the rev band and at the expense of some mid-range. This makes sense to me as I've had this experience with motorcycles (Ducati Testastretta 11-degree vs Superbike valve timings are a good example).

The NISMO is extremely "revvy" for lack of a better word. Unless you're really hammering it, you're never going to notice the extra 18hp and it will probably be slightly slower for more "normal" driving. At 6000 rpm though, hold on tight!

OP: Go with the one you want; they're both fantastic cars. I love the exclusivity, looks, suspension, and wheels/brakes of my NISMO but I'm still jealous of the Touring interior. If you value ride quality/comfort get a base model.

Just in case you're not sure what the Nismo is..... it also has a complete body kit package.

Btw.... who the heck drives fast and aggressive on highways and city streets
