I share your same logic which is why I went with the Nismo myself. I figured if I was going to spend the money on a car might as well get the best the model offers.

I think for most "real car guys" money is a consideration though.

i still prefer the base sports-package 2009-2012's simple design. the 2015 nismo looks terrible to me as well... |

All I'll say is IMO the larger rear wing on the Nismo models take away from some of the classiness of the 370 and make it look more like a toy. I much prefer the stock one on my Sport.

the whole article explained how you're negative equity for a good 2/3 of if and when its time to sell you may or may not have a car in your posession that's viable for sale! |

That's where I also agree. If you don't like how Nismo looks no reason to get it. Pointless.
I honestly dont even care for the suspension or exhaust, I just like the bodykit. I wanted a new car and after doing the numbers to get a real amuse kit with a real paintjob to match it would cost the same if not more. So I just got a nismo. Now I plan on upgrading to coilovers and exhaust etc. So if it wasnt for the look I would also myself get a base, well actually I would go for touring because of the nicer interior. I feel like the Nismo interior is a bit lame compared to touring. |

There is no better or worse style here. It is just a matter of personal preferences. Just because one prefers one style over the other, it doesn't make it worse.
Car guy or not, rich or poor, just get the one that suit you and make you happy. |

Base model Z is docile to me and too soft for my taste, but in all honestly I'm disappointed in the Z brand entirely. I remember the 90-91 Twin Turbo Z was in comparison with dam near every high performance car on the market, Corvette, NSX, Ferrari 360, Supra, 911 Turbo ect. Now it's in the company of a Hyundai Genesis, BRZ, WRX/STI, Golf GTI, 335i ect. Sad thing is this......... Both the Supra and NSX will reamerge soon and they'll be nothing short of borderline exotics and that's where the Z should be. Of course the GTR is in its place, but the Z was a solid contender at one point up in those ranks and as much as I love it, it needs to be in comparison with at least the M4, C63, RS5, C7 the new RC-F. Just my opinion.

Well, many of us probably can't afford it if the Z is a borderline exotics like the 2nd generation NSX or even the 1st generation which cost around $90k in 2005.
Who cares what the Z compares to. Most of us have a budget and get whatever is best for us. Personally I am glad that Nissan made the Z affordable for us. Quote:
