^ Saying the Nismo (or any Z) is "track ready" from the factory is not true.

Unless you want your overheated, fuel-starved, car to be pulled out of the tire wall because the brakes failed.

Now what about Nismo RC versus Base 370?

All I'll say is IMO the larger rear wing on the Nismo models take away from some of the classiness of the 370 and make it look more like a toy. I much prefer the stock one on my Sport.

unfortunately i read in an article a few weeks back that more canadians are taking out longer car loans... the average loan went up by 6months. there have been a big increase in longer loands (5-7 years) as opposed to the 4 year car loans previously offered.

the whole article explained how you're negative equity for a good 2/3 of if and when its time to sell you may or may not have a car in your posession that's viable for sale!

That's where I also agree. If you don't like how Nismo looks no reason to get it. Pointless.

I honestly dont even care for the suspension or exhaust, I just like the bodykit. I wanted a new car and after doing the numbers to get a real amuse kit with a real paintjob to match it would cost the same if not more. So I just got a nismo. Now I plan on upgrading to coilovers and exhaust etc.

So if it wasnt for the look I would also myself get a base, well actually I would go for touring because of the nicer interior. I feel like the Nismo interior is a bit lame compared to touring.

i guess that's an argument in the sense of this slight convenience.

There is no better or worse style here. It is just a matter of personal preferences. Just because one prefers one style over the other, it doesn't make it worse.

Car guy or not, rich or poor, just get the one that suit you and make you happy.

Base model Z is docile to me and too soft for my taste, but in all honestly I'm disappointed in the Z brand entirely. I remember the 90-91 Twin Turbo Z was in comparison with dam near every high performance car on the market, Corvette, NSX, Ferrari 360, Supra, 911 Turbo ect. Now it's in the company of a Hyundai Genesis, BRZ, WRX/STI, Golf GTI, 335i ect. Sad thing is this......... Both the Supra and NSX will reamerge soon and they'll be nothing short of borderline exotics and that's where the Z should be. Of course the GTR is in its place, but the Z was a solid contender at one point up in those ranks and as much as I love it, it needs to be in comparison with at least the M4, C63, RS5, C7 the new RC-F. Just my opinion.

Well, many of us probably can't afford it if the Z is a borderline exotics like the 2nd generation NSX or even the 1st generation which cost around $90k in 2005.

Who cares what the Z compares to. Most of us have a budget and get whatever is best for us.

Personally I am glad that Nissan made the Z affordable for us.

If that works for you, then that's very nice.

I looked at the nismo and prefer the sport looks. For what I do with it, the performance difference (what little there is) doesn't matter. I'm not a car guy, but I love cars. Not sure if that counts or if I just proved an earlier point.

Either way, the choice is definitely first world problems. Kind of like did you buy a Patek Phillipe or an Omega watch? Both of them are great, but one is obviously better... right? (or so the price tags tell us) Did you sign your sales contract with a Montblanc or a Parker? Montblanc's definitely perform and look better...
