I don't find the look of the M235i to be appealing, except for the distinctive front end. The side and back remind me of a Taurus.

I love my Nismo period. I still get people staring at my car and asking me questions at the gas station. When I bought this car I knew what I was getting. This is a car meant to go to the track. So comforts will be lost in the car. When people say other cars are more "liveable" it really just depends on the person. I drive my car all year round, and with winter tires I have no problems with my car. The review was probably on a green car. My Nismo was slow (I had an lightly modded 350Z) then around 7500-8000 miles not only did I get better gas mpg, but it was faster as well. Raced my friends Cayman S and he won, after the 8K miles and I won both cars are stock. Automobile Magazine did a 0- 1 mile run in a New 2013 Nismo it did 1 mile at 139.9mph in 35.9 seconds. I did the run and at 1mile I was at 150mph.

I feel the same way bro. But it looks like we would be outnumbered on there. I really want to say something to the guy that said the GTI put up better performance numbers than the Z

I got a laugh when the reviewer wrote "the interior felt like it finally made the jump to modern times and better matched with the aggressive exterior styling". It's the same f'ing interior that the Z has had for 6 years, for crying out loud!
I agree with the criticisms of the $46K price tag - that's ridiculous. For that price I'd buy a Challenger SRT8 Scat Pack (pretty much fully optioned) instead.

I autocrossed and did some light duty laps on Nissan's Grandrive test track in Japan 2 weeks ago. Its a nice rework of the car. Talked for at least an hour with the suspension engineer, he did a great job on it, the car didn't plow at all in the autocross, even when it was raining on us.
As for the M235i, thats my daily driver. I took it out for a session at Atlanta Motorsports Park and in my opinion, it behaved better than a stock 370z. I can't say how it would fair against the 15 nismo though. Also, word I got in Japan is Nissan is committed to the next Z, but they don't have the budget for development right now, so it won't be out before 2017, and that is at the earliest.

I think what it boils down to is simply this; Nissan has allowed the Z34 to overstay it's welcome in production. Two days ago I met a great guy with the '15 nismo, and I got a chance to see it in person. It was red just like mine, and although the flashy new add ons were nice, it was still the same exact vehicle Nissan has given is since late 2009! We are all on this forum because we love our cars, but I think it's safe to say that this platform is becoming aged when compared to its competitors. I think Nissan blew it by keeping the Z34 alive without any notable changes. The balls they had to mark up the price to nearly 50K is astounding! I can only hope that they did this to make the successor more desirable.

They should follow the marketing and trickery that Porsche does to its 911. Porsche has the the newer Cockster and Gayman that could beat their 911 flagship; yet, they manage to sell more cars from each model without killing their flagship. |
