stillen or fast intentions exhaust?

Which is better? I am looking at power gains and no drone.

Hands down, FI.

:iagree:

I would think majority of the forum will also agree. Phenomenal exhaust, FI makes some of the best parts for our Z.

You are stillen the early stages of membership and will find soon enough that most intend to go fast. There you go.

Smart

Do you care about noise level? Or are you interested in purely gains?

dichoi 11-22-2014 10:24 AM

I've had both. Had a stillen, went to fast intentions because I wanted something louder. Sound-wise, I think the stillen actually sounds sweeter above 4k but overall I'm glad I made the switch to fi.

The power gains go the FI by a hair, but all exhausts will be within striking distance of each other. Drone seems to be more dependent on what you do with the stock cats, if anything. The only negative thing I've ever heard anyone say about FI is the waiting list, but that's what happens when you have the most popular product.

The stillen has proven gains, plus I always get discounts from them every time I call them up to order more parts. It isn't the loudest but defiantly IN My Opinion, cleanest sounding exhaust, 3-5k rpm's is the sweet spot.

Had a Stillen exhaust on my 08' Maxima. It was perfect for that car. I however require a louder exhaust for my Z. I do not want to have to be all up in it to hear the exhaust. I prefer the opposite in a sports car. I like to hear it just putting around.

I liked the stillen because it was a tad quieter and understated looking. If I were younger and this wasn't my DD I would have gone FI.

I have a Stillen cat back for my 09 Altima. I love how it sounds, and considered the Stillen cat back for the Z, but wasn't a huge fan of how they kept the stock style Y pipe instead of keeping it as two pipes (which I believe the NISMO Z's already have) and I personally don't care for the tips they put on it.. looks too 350Z-esque to me :wtf2:. I have heard the Stillen cat back on a 370Z though and it does sound nice.

I've got a Fast Intentions exhaust on order

nono I meant the actual noise level aside from the drone/rasp. That was my deciding factor to not getting some of the other exhausts on the market was the excessive noise.

Figure out what you're going to do with the stock cats first. An exhaust that's "just right" with stock cats may be too loud, raspy or drony with HFCs. Test pipes even worse. Plan out your whole build before you start ordering parts unless you want to find out that you bought the wrong exhaust for your desired noise level.
