UPDATE:
So I found a used 2010 40th aniversary 370z metalic grey color with red interior with 33k miles. They are asking $23,000 they want $2,000 down and my monthly payments will be $448 with 10%apr which I can refinance after 12 months to reduce. Should I get it? EDIT: Here is a pic of it at the dealership, they are putting brand new tires on it. Exactly like this one - Last edited by czirrfb; 11-25-2014 at 09:42 PM. |

Dude, Bro, friend, I am sorry about your INSANE incident seriously. Not going to lie to you, there was a part of your story that made me LMMFAO almost in tears, because I envisioned it in my head like some crazy action scene from a movie.
Anyway I am really glad you are "ok". I quote "ok" because you never really know if you are ok from that type of trauma to the head, years later you could develop something because of this incident. Therefore I recommend getting thoroughly checked out by docs, and get a second opinion as well. I only say the because I had a TBI while I was active duty and it still affects me til this day. And welcome to the forum!!! It is unfortunate that it had to be like this but now you are part of one of the best car enthusiast forums in the globe IMHO. When you get your 370z you will be very pleased, I am a firm believer that these kind of things happen for a reason. I hope for a richly positive result for you. Take care and get well |

Also the insurance gave you 12k for your car, did they take care of your med bills? If so use more than 2K to put down, try 5K it will lower your monthly payments and then refinance in 6 months with a lower APR with a credit union. I say go for it, the 40th is SCHWEEEEET! or keep shopping around until you find a Nismo

Do you guys think its not worth it with 10%APR?
Should I just save $ and take the bus or something for a while? I did some math... Payments+insurance+gas is gonna cost me about $700 per month for this specific car. And that came out to around almost $9,000 per year and with the APR so high in a year I will have only paid like 4-5k to the 23k loan at which point I could try and refinance and get a lower APR. I dunno if its worth it, but im in love with the car.... I make about $2,300 per month. I have the following bills.... Rent - My half - $450 Dental - $150 (almost paid off only owe $1,200) COX - $60 APS - My half - $50 If I was to get this car it would add an additional $700+ per month. Not including any mods or mechanical things I might have to do to the vehicle. According to KBB the current "Trade in Value" for this specific vehicle with the miles is around $21k Last edited by czirrfb; 11-25-2014 at 11:11 PM. |

I know it's hard to really turn down something you want. It's good that your trying to work it out from a financial view. Just remember you want it to be a good positive experience. spreading yourself thin and always stressing about being able to pay all your bills might take away from your purchase experience. Wouldn't want you to regret buying a 370. Having said that,if you feel you can deal with a financial strain for a year, and you have job stability,I say go for it
Hopefully in a year you'll get a decent settlement from your Hollywood experience and be able to buy the car outright! And if it's 100% his fault, you should get your 1000$ deductible back. Good luck man |

Yeah im gonna pass, because I did the math, with that interest and payments for 72 months im going to be paying like $33,000 for this vehicle, and currently the trade value is only around $20,000 so in 4yrs the car will not be worth much, I will literally be throwing $ away on this car.
So I can either save $ and buy a beater to drive around for a year or I can settle for something not as nice. Having $ in the bank and being able to go on trips and buy nice things is better than having a 370z honestly. A car is just a car at the end of the day. |

I honestly think what im going to do is buy a cheap motorcycle so at least I have a means of transportation and can get to/from work so I can save $ for a while and get a car later on down the road

Wow crazy story, well glad you're recovering and pretty sweet that douche got caught.
That price for that Z is good, but the 10% APR is f**ked up. Get a better deal from a bank/credit union that will approve you. Don't get their warranty if its not from a Nissan dealership.

I kinda spoiled myself. Now I see the 370z as first place and any other car as a runner up, so I think it would be stupid to "settle" and get something cheaper but not as good as the 370.
But its nice to have goals, and the 370 is my new goal! |
