Ive never had a "nice" car in my life. The nicest car ive ever had was the 03 350z which is kinda sad.
25 is still young, yet old enough to make financial mistakes that will haunt you for decades. Do the right thing now. Buy something cash and drive it for a year. Same time next year your credit will be in a better place and if you bank the car payment you would have been making on the Z, you'll have a lot more to put down. You'll be in a better place for sure. One year. 12 months. 26 paychecks. It's a small price to pay to set yourself up to be in a better position.

Or not. You're free to make whatever mistakes you feel like.

The right choice is the one to make, its obvious. I am not going to do this the wrong way. Your right. A year is just a year, it will fly by.

Besides, im still waiting on this crap with the lawyer to get resolved. I could possibly get a decent sized compensation for this guy who ruined my life, ill wait it out and see what happens with that. Should be about another month until I know whats going on.

That alone is worth holding out for before you make any financial decisions. If you really get bogged down on the legal side, it may take far longer than your lawyer tells you. Hell, it may take a year for anything involving a court to shake out.

Hell, it may help your case to be driving some POS for a year. "Your Honor, I had a sweet 350z. Due to the actions of the defendant, I'm stuck driving a 100k mile mid-90s econobox".

Damn, good thing you're ok!

Good story to tell at a bar though. As far as purchasing a Z just be patient. Do a lot of searching and find the best deal for you. Last thing you want to is to get into something that's going to screw you over.

My APR was around 2.8 if I recall... 8 is high, the fact that they contacted you back means they want the sale... Try and talk them down to 4% or look elsewhere.

I would really work on building that credit because it will really help you down the line when you plan to buy a house, need a loan, emergency funds, etc. You might think you need it now and that would definitely solve that feeling of instant gratification. The average person is suffocating in debt and what seems cool now will just piss you off later in life.

For example, I was loads in debt due to poor choices and not maturely saving my money while I was in the military for 6 years. My credit score was very good though because I was never delinquent on a payment. It got worse when I decided to use my GI Bill and still not have enough income coming in. I got tired of it and decided to go back to Afghanistan as a contractor and I am now a year and a half in. I could have blown all my money so far and got a 2014 GTR Black Edition that would have made me the happiest dude in the world, but instead I got a 2014 370z with a good MSRP reduction. I was able to pay in cash for it and now I have the opportunity to get my Master's Degree when my GI Bill runs out and I don't have to worry about being in debt. Patience is all you really need because something better is going to come your way and you will end up being happier for it. Instant gratification will be your downfall. Just my 2 cents and some extra 2 cents...:P

Crazy story on the accident though and good to see you are fine after that...holy crap really. Conceal carry is your friend.

For having bad credit, 8% isn't all that bad. Being prior military, I've seen a bunch of young guys get raped at the dealership. We had this kid in my platoon that went by himself to buy a used Mustang. Dealership got him a loan for 21%, lmao! I think that was the legal limit that a bank can charge. To top it off, we asked if he at least got a V8, but he wasn't sure so we popped the hood and it was a V6.

I've seen people get raped bad around military installations with the APR rates. Never buy a car near a military post. We had this dumb kid in my platoon buy a BMW 7 series with no real way to afford the finance costs. We couldn't believe it and then he wrecked it a month later. I spent all my money in the military on vacations, booze, and women. The vacations I would never take back, but the others...oh if I could turn back time...

MJB I see you are in Tacoma. I was stationed at Ft. Lewis (JBLM now) with 3rd brigade, 2nd infantry.

Well a 40th edition 370z would pull more "bitches" than a POS honda civic lol.

and good game can beat any car. you know there are also those that think you are trying to compensate for something...

one way to look at your current apr is that you will be paying 25% of the car's value in interest to be paying.
