probably why that pic was in there.

Could be a good thing if Nissan employs a similar system to IMA. The hybrid Honda CR-Z is available with a supercharger and a six speed manual transmission.

With all the R&D money Nissan spent on Syncro-rev matching manual technology I don't see them abandoning it for the next gen Zed.

And Nissan would never rename the next line of Z's to its codename. Since Infiniti used to measure the displacement of the engine in their models using G37, G35, FX45, etc. That would give some buyers the impression that the Z had a 3.5 litre engine.
I wouldnt write it off just yet. The article, albeit, poorly written "engrish" does follow suite with what the new Q60 is getting. I think it has merit and very excited about a 400+HP Targo top Z with additional electric motor.

I might have missed this, but what's the typical time differential between G and Z -- one year?

Meaning, does a 2016 Q60 imply a 2017 Z35 at the earliest?

Mine will be about paid off just in time then...

if it follows the timelime of the G37 and Z34 then yes it was a year between the two.

I don't belive there will be a next Z. At least not for a few years. We might see a hiatus from the Z line like we did after the Z32. At least that's the inside scoop I've got. Milking this Z34 body is exactly what was described to me over 2 years ago by inside folks at Nissan. 2016 should be the final year, as the Nismo convertible will be a one year only type deal for '16.

If the Z gets put on hiatus, Nissan will just have the soon to be crazy expensive new GT-R and no other performance offerings? That doesn't seem like a good idea since that's one of the few things separating them from Hondas and Toyotas now, the performance.

Serious?! But everyone is guessing there is a new one after the new Q60 debut.

Isn't that how it works?

I can see both sides to the argument. At the end of the day Nissan is like any other car company that's trying to sell units for $$$. Their current Z sales are dismal, but there's still a chance they will offer a new Z that's both competitive and profitable. Performance cars are on the rise, everyone's got cars putting out lots of power and great handling. If Nissan doesn't at least give the Z one last try they are marginalizing themselves and the brand as a whole. The GT-R may be their super car but the Z is everyone's sports car.

I were to hate it if it was everyone's sports car. Ewww! That what Infiniti is for!!

Lol I want a new sports car only I can own!

I have never been able to figure out exactly what the Juke is supposed to be

If Nissan were smart, they'd focus more on the Versa (Note) and less on Sentra. Hot hatches are really popular internationally, but I really have no idea what kind of person buys a performance upgraded Sentra, that makes no sense to me

Z should be their money maker in the performance line though. If that means offering multiple engine packages in the z35 I am all for it. Mustang has 3 different engine configurations now, including a turbo-4. The successor to the z34 really needs to try and capture different market segments like its competitors are.
