Meh... I'm good. Plus, I'm not sure there are a lot of Americans in the market for a "Drunken Piss Metallic" colored GT-R.

It's on the US order sheet. I actually found it weird that they'd even offer such an option here. I know the GT-R has had a cult following for years with the Gran Turismo gen but to celebrate the marque's "45th" here doesn't make a lot of sense since the nameplate only made its way here with the debut of the R35.

FWIW none of the US spec '16 info has been released yet, my guess is that they do a reveal sometime in a next month or so and just like the Midnight Opal '14 it's just a simple paint option here in the states just as it looks like it is in Japan.

Just read this article in which Nissan's corporate VP is quoted -

might see a DI engine tested in the 2016 z34 which would probably take the base vq37 to 350 hp and nismo to 370? hehehe.

I'd like to see them use a turbo version of the Mercedes 3.5L, which is based off the Chrysler Pentastar. I had that motor in a '13 300S and it is fantastic. Very smooth, doesn't sound like it is about to blow up past 5k.

Nissan puts in the 5.6 from the Titan line. Twin turbo. Calls it the 560Z. Americans everywhere droll.

Is that like "drool troll"?

FWIW, I'm all in favor of multiple engines if it puts more Zs on the road and keeps the nameplate alive. I know it'll dilute the brand a bit but its necessary in today's competitive market IMO, just as Porsche has migrated into SUV territory with the Cayenne and now the Macan in order to continue delivering the GTS Caymans and GT3 911s we love oh so much.

What I am sad about is the fact that the IDx may never come to fruition. I still say it'd be a fantastic JUKE successor.
