Edit: Sorry i meant to say "Launching", not "Lauching"
![]() Ok so I know of 2 diff ways people normally do to launch the car (at least for auto mode) and I'm not sure which way is better, or pros/cons, or if there are any other ways: 1/ Keep it in drive mode, rev the engine with the other foot on the brake up to around 2-3k RPM, then launch it by flooring the car and letting go of the brake. 2/ Someone mentioned something about rev'ing high in neutral, then switch over to Drive and floor it. I'm still a beginner, but i've been using method 1 for my Z (using the manual mode) and my previous cars for the fun. What do you guys think? ![]() Last edited by nghivinhton; 11-07-2014 at 11:20 AM. |

That is just about the absolute worst method to launch an AT. Unless you are trying to destroy your transmission ![]()

So just to chime in here, back in highschool, first car, '87 Maxima Auto, i used to N drop ALL DAY LONG.
Not sure what kind of transmission was in there, but dayuum, the only thing that killed the car, was redlining without proper lubrication ![]() Transmission still held up. AND, AND, get this, i bough the car @ 202k miles, put maybe 18k more on it, before its demise. What a great car that was. Rotted rear fenders, pull back seat cushions see the tires ![]() ![]() Did i mention the automatic seat belts that rolled up the pillars into position! Best feature ever... why don't we see these anymore?? ![]() I also remember a few times, before its end of days, pulling the bumper right up against a light post concrete barrier at the mall (front wheel drive), and just flooring it. Somehow the tires went bald, lots of white smoke! .. Anyways to get back on topic, Don't N drop your ride ![]()
