Launching the Z ?
Edit: Sorry i meant to say "Launching", not "Lauching"
Ok so I know of 2 diff ways people normally do to launch the car (at least for auto mode) and I'm not sure which way is better, or pros/cons, or if there are any other ways: 1/ Keep it in drive mode, rev the engine with the other foot on the brake up to around 2-3k RPM, then launch it by flooring the car and letting go of the brake. 2/ Someone mentioned something about rev'ing high in neutral, then switch over to Drive and floor it. I'm still a beginner, but i've been using method 1 for my Z (using the manual mode) and my previous cars for the fun. What do you guys think? Last edited by nghivinhton; 11-07-2014 at 12:20 PM. |

That is just about the absolute worst method to launch an AT. Unless you are trying to destroy your transmission

The best way!
1.Rev the engine up for about a minute in neutral but DO NOT DROP it in D. The brake should be depressed for safety. 2. Once you stop revving, Place car in D stomp on the gas with VDC ON the first gear. While in second quickly take VDC OFF and shift into third gear. Make sure you redline the first 4 gears but prevent over-revving. You don't need all that brake drama. It will slow you down. If you want? You can do a burn out to heat up the tires before following my instructions. But that gas brake shyt will actually slow u down.

O
Yeah but I'm NOT talking about popping it while RPMS ARE UP!!! JUST revving the engine to get it angry. The autos algorithm program will recognize the aggressive inputs while in neutral. I DID say put in D then hit the gas. I DID say do not rev out into D 7at doesn't rev out as good as letting VDC control INITIAL launch The Z's power level feels a Lil sluggish at first with the gas brake method. It doesn't pop out like the v8. At least on the auto transmission, it feels better from a stop n VDC on.

Much better with VDC off. Hold at 1700 rpm brake and gas. just feather the gas pedal for a few feet and floor it.
