Replace battery. If it's the original battery, it's about time for a new one.
He has one of the tiny Odyssey batteries. As far as distilled water, its a maintenance free battery. I had the PC680 and it only lasted about 2 years and wasn't very good at cold weather startups.

Ah. Didn't notice that in his sig. Thanks.

I'm leaning toward a bad battery but, assuming the car was being jumped properly, it could be a bad starter. Or bad connection in the starter power circuit (eg, battery terminals). Alternator hasn't been ruled out, either.
