Most people here could have. Why didn't you? 1. Because Porsche engines are not known for their reliabality. Try to find a 911 or Cayman with over 100,000 miles. I ASSUME the Z can do 300,000 without issue. 2. Unless you go to new Cayman, the 06-09s have IMS failure issues. Good luck with that.... 3. When I test drove one, the dealer started it up, and a big cloud of smoke came out of it. The things are honestly pieces of under-engineered ****. They're great the first 3 years. After that, throw it away or get a $6,000 extended warranty. 4. The Cayman looks like a girls car from a lot of angles. 5. The 911 is HUGE. The thing is as big as a minivan. |

I've also never met a 911 owner with over 100,000 miles. The cars are junk. Research the issues they have. Porsche simply doesn't care about reliabality. Why do they have low claims? Because owners don't drive them!!!! |

The 964's leaked burnt oil they were notorious for that. The heads need to be rebuilt more so than most cars I'd say but keep in mind this is all mostly due to owner neglect more often than not. Its like anything if you take care of a car properly it shouldn't have any major issues unless it is a manufacturing defect.

My 997 C4S has 60,000 miles and still runs strong. Just regular stuff like water pump, battery, belt, pads, etc. I can't speak for the 991 since I don't own one I bought the 370z because of its wide rear (much like the 930 at 1/3-1/4 the price ). I buy cars simply because I like cars. Last edited by cab83_750; 11-06-2014 at 01:54 AM. |
