Compared to back then. electronics play a bigger part. I feel u. My rx felt more direct as well. But for current times Z is well done.

Agree also. I would rather have it in such a way that the road, car and myself communicate as "one". I enjoy the car this way... Plus I feel safer!

Update. I was just cut off by a Dodge Challenger on the freeway the other day. I was in the no. 2 lane and this fool just merged on the freeway and he actually swept over 3 lanes just to cut me off! I was actually flattered that I ruffled his feathers. There was light traffic and this fool was pacing me waiting for me to gun it in this light traffic. So I laughed, looked at him and gave him the thumbs down and he decided to let off. It was funny.

ps. And I've had 1 or 2 toyobaru's rev their motor on me when they saw my Z. Neither of these events were disrespect IMO, I was flattered!

Should have called him in for reckless driving. One guy did the same thing to me. If i would have not braked he would have barreled into my car with a giant SUV, and the car next to me would have likely smashed into my car too.

People that hop lanes like that have to be under the influence of something, normal people just don't drive like that, unless they are total D-bags.

People drive like that all over the place around where I live. I had a c class Benz do it to me this morning.

This reminds me of something, months ago i was in a two lane road that hand a bend turn, i was on the inside lane and an SUV was on the outside lane, the SUV clearly seen my car next to him/her because i was slightly forward of that SUV while waiting for the traffic signal. So when the light turned green i start driving and minding my own business when the SUV starts to go from the outer lane into my lane. I break hard to avoid being hit then honk to let him know that he was about to hit my car.

The SUV swerves back into its lane then for no reason slows down to almost a complete stop. Then speeds up again and attempts to switch lanes again (no turn signal). The SUV ends up hitting the truck that was behind me. Amazing how bad some drivers are, the SUV almost hit me car and knew very well it almost collided with me but somehow it ends up colliding into a truck in the same manner it almost collided with my vehicle.

Rant of the day.

Sounds typical of most people driving these days. The thing that blows my ******* mind more than anything else these days, is people not knowing how to merge onto a godamn freeway. How hard is it to look before you merge. The amount of times I've almost been hit when some idiot is merging onto the freeway is astounding. Merging means you are the one who needs to get into the lane I shouldn't have to ******* watch out for you and slow down to 30mph so you ******* stupid *** can get in the freeway.

What's worse is being stuck behind the fool trying to merge who decides either a.) 30mph is fast enough or b.) comes to a complete stop on the ramp instead of speeding up with traffic.

This is bad, real bad in TX...Especially in the DFW and HOU areas, WTF. These folks are already going 70 to 85 and you wanna hit brakes to merge on I35 or I45 going 30mph.:driving:

My (short) round trip is mostly highway. This is a daily occurrence, unfortunately. This, and for some reason these fools going 5 under the speed limit in the fast lane that refuse to move over and then honk/flip me off and SPEED UP as I go around. Since when were these early-2000 Tahoes and rusty work trucks ever considered fast? Z = win, stop trying bro.

Makes no sense :shakes head:

I understand what you're saying as I got to drive a stock M235i 2 weeks back. It's a great car, good power, agile handling managed by very precise steering. However the steeting felt dull when compared to my Z. Yup, some of the older cars had great feedback.

Driftomodachi 11-10-2014 01:21 PM

It's because older cars didn't have liquid filled suspension mounts to numb out the feeling

dant1127 11-10-2014 04:02 PM

I think this talk of "dull" is overplayed. A Camry has dull steering. A Panther platform (pick one) should come with free anti-depressants.

Our Z might not tell you that you're hitting 15 pebbles per second, but I've never had a problem telling what my suspension is up to. I feel enough of the road to know what I'm driving on and how far I'm pushing the tires.

I'd call it smooth. With that comes the added benefit of each pothole and road imperfection not ripping the steering one way or the other. It also makes road trips almost GT-like. But, IMHO, dull is an incorrect description. Sharp, accurate, stubborn to a degree. But not dull.

kenchan 11-10-2014 04:04 PM

some older cars had too much feedback for my lazy arse... :ugh: i dont care to know if i crushed an ant's head

smooth and fast is wat i like these days. 370z does that well.

A Camry is not a sports car it is the most boring car on earth. A sports car should give good accurate feed back through the steering. That being said the 370z steering is not that. Its like sex with a condom, it'll do but its not ideal. ;)

Tadpole 11-10-2014 06:26 PM

In not sure on what kind of feedback you are looking for but I feel every bump, crack, and anything not level. I know what the road conditions are at all times.

Sex with a condom huh? Kinda like "If my aunt had a pecker she would be my uncle?"

dant1127 11-10-2014 06:28 PM

Whats sex with a condom feel like?
