Color combo that sell for a premium
I realized that color comb is a personal preference. I was wondering if there is certain color/interior combo that are in higher demand and command a higher premium? I personally like the PW/orange combo.
I am not familiar with the 370z market, but the BMW e46 M3 Whte/Cinnamon commands a higher premium than other color combo. |

IDK, but I know a few people who would murder someone to get a magma red nismo.

If you can find production figures by color (by year is readily available), that might give you a hint. As a rule-of-thumb, the rarer it is the more valuable it is.

You want rare, do it yourself...
I'm throwing '15 Nismo parts on my Magma Red Z. For this year at least, that's not available from Nissan. Sure, in the collector's definition of value, it loses some since it is not original paint, but if someone really wants a '15 MR Nismo, ATM, I'm going to be the only game in town. Of course, I'm not doing it for resale or collectors value. This is my car, I'm going to run it into the ground.

Its a Nissan. No Nissan color combo will "command" a premium.

Let me clarify. I'm talking used. When buying new and want "enhancements", you turn around and bend over.

Why go premium when there is a word called "modification" you get to choose which theme you like and make your car exceptionally unique. IMo
Why settle for a premium price when any old fart with tons of money can buy it. But since you mentioned I always find the BMW M3 CSL orange a rare find. image.jpg |

Also - research the GT-R used market a bit - you'll find that, on average, super silver doesn't command the premium charged, but Pearl White commands a higher than average selling price because it is the most demanded color. The safest bet you can have with buying a car is buying it in a color that is "safe" meaning that people are more likely to buy it over a "fad" color. Safe colors are typically neutral colors, like white, gray, black, or silver. Magma Red is definitely a sweet color that is in low supply, but you may find that demand for it goes in cycles, as do most "fad" colors like the burnt oranges of the early 2000s (as seen on the Sentra SE-R, 350Z, and a few other brands) and they come back around occasionally on newer production vehicles. Another fad color that will likely die (at least across any other manufacturer that doesn't touch anything MOPAR) is lime green metallic. Bottom line is - rather than looking at colors that would command a "premium", look for colors that well help hold up your resale value. Or, just look for whatever color you like and F the rest of it.

safe colours: white, silver and black will always be popular.
Red and yellow will always catch the eye of a sports car guy, with black cherry, and 40th being slightly outside the original box colours. I personally love all the colour options for the 370z, from black on black to the odd colour 40th with red interior

Personally speaking, I love the 370z PW/Orange (harder to find also) and am willing to pay more comparing to other color combo. Again, I am not knocking other color combo, but simply a personal preference. |
