GTR....

Z as a DD is meh, Z as a track, meh. After going to Road America in the street race class, the Z's weren't even in the top 5. They finished 8th and 9th.

Didn't see any Z's at Brainerd Race Track earlier this year. Saw 1 GTR that ran the roll race.

If I was not in the market to save and buy a house, I'd have a GT-R right now and Z would be long gone. Neck and back breakers are entertaining to watch but that's all I get with the Z these days :P

Also nobody ever mentions insurance. Important as it should factor into buying a DD. GT-R insurance for me is about $80 more than the Z, which isn't bad at all.

GTR All Day , Everyday !

Interestingly enough this was a realistic situation for me and I contemplated it. Either keep my STi, 370z, and Cobalt SS; or get rid of them and just get a GTR. Problem is I would have to have a beater and I don't think I could do it. Plus I like my other cars too much to want to get rid of them and just have one.

Your Z may be "meh", but mine is not.

If money is no object, GT-R all day. Those $1000 service intervals and $5000 brake jobs scare me.

Let me see, a '15 Coupe auto, '15 NISMO auto, or a GTR? How am I supposed to give my opinion? '15 NISMO auto for daily, but GTR for Sunday driving.

Driftomodachi 10-31-2014 01:32 PM

If you will get both get a Nismo 6mt. Gt-r is auto. No need to be fully gay. Jk

living in MN with a car hobby is meh..

No point in having an additional $25k car. Just buy the GT-R :)

Ricer X - I was curious why the GTR needed to be daily driven? I would assume that if you could comfortably afford a GTR that it wouldn't be much of an issue to pick up a used camry for DD duties?

I saw your question as a matter of life stages:

Married with kids - 370z with family DD.

Divorced with no alimony or child support - GTR. Ha Ha.

I would get a daily for both though if I had the means. I like these cars too much to watch them get dinged up by shopping carts.

For me personally, I would rather have an old $20,000 09 370Z and have the $70,000 difference sitting in the bank.

Everyone is different though. There's no one right way to live life.

Well... since the GTR is one of my absolute favorite cars... I'd have to say GTR all day everyday and then all night too.

Zerocool 11-02-2014 10:49 PM

Well mine is a daily driver. Looking for a winter beater at the moment but my car is definitely not "meh" as a daily driver. I absolutely enjoy driving her and feeling that acceleration when I mash the pedal.
