i had the same issue with my PW z. I thought that it was a different shade between the side skirts and the rest of the car but sunlight is the main factor
pictures are really difficult to judge color from |

dude thats terrible. I can see the new paint job like a sore thumb. Better ask the idiots if they looked up 09 350z yellow instead of 09 370z yellow.
how can they be so blind as to try to release the car in that condition? wouldnt someone say "hey dude, somethings wrong, tell the customer its gunna be another week". but no, instead, "eh, mabye the dude wont notice, try to get it out of here". No way the painter didnt see the difference. |

Paint shades will differ a very little to some degree on the different materials but this shop is not even close. I hope it all works out for you. Keep us posted.

Beings that you and the wife are the only ones to see it in person I believe you when you say the colors are off as far as a match.
I don't see how anyone can tell by the pictures posted though! I'am quite sure if it is a reputable body shop if you are not satisfied they will reshoot the panels to your likeing. After all when there is an accident an insurance adjuster comes out to make up an estimate sheet and if the color doesn't match they will make it right. Just a shame you happened to see the car on the weekend and they are closed. If it were a work day I'am sure they will make a reasonable attempt to match the paint to your satisfaction once you talk to them.Good luck and let us know how you made out. |

i would pursue his insurance company for extra money due to a 'loss of value' for the car, considering its going to be worth at least $1500 less when you resell it (thats what KBB says). thats just me

I like the new color better. But you can really see where the door is blended... I'd just take it back there and say its unacceptable. There are certain things you can look past but two different color panels is a whole diff story.
That’s what you want to tell them. Other then that most people would be like wow amazing job! But car enthusiasts are different. Me being a painter I know how hard it is to match the color perfectly. Its not possible. No matter what it will always be different. Noticeable, sometimes you would never notice it and most people usually don’t, but its there. It needed to be lighter and blended better. Yellow is one of the hardest colors to match and use to cover an existing color. That’s why I'd never in my life buy a yellow car. |

I met with the body shop this AM and they are redoing the paint; they said it looked alright inside but admit that the match is terrible when viewed in the sun.
Hopefully, they will get it right the second time around. I appreciate all the helpful replies from the members. Al |

I can really see the difference in the second picture. This just makes me sick.

This really is a terrible paint job. I was hit with my 350Z lemans sunset (orange) and the paint was matched perfectly the first time. Next time don't use these guys. This time refuse to accept until it's at least close because right now it isn't.
