Took her to the dyno today

well ladies and gents, decided to pop her cherry and get her up on the dyno for a few pulls. I was expecting somewhereabouts 270whp and about 235 ft/lbs, and strangely enough, thats right about how much I put down. I decided to do a good before and after dyno with every mod I add, Berk HFC's are pending purchase as we speak, and as soon as I get them I intend to dyno asap. Weird thing happened though, seems I made more power the hotter the engine became, strange. Also, seems as though he didnt take it to 7500rpms, probably could have made more power.

heres a pic of my sheet. Keep in mind, elevation is 4000 ft. ASL, was averaging about 90 degrees with a humidity of about 5%.

I'd rather not discuss that, lol, the track was poorly prepared really, and with the elevation, it just feels like the car is gasping for air. If you must know, a 14 even, for comparison, a GT500 ran a 13.6, which was his best of 4 runs. Dude showed me a slip from florida and ran a 12.3, so I know it wasnt just me.

kgreen 10-02-2009 07:21 PM

i 2nd that..i too live in El Paso and have the same experiences. we will never have a decent track

Red370 10-02-2009 07:23 PM

it definitely has an incline, i was rolling backward when I pulled up to the line. It gets real dusty here so its hard to grip also. I basically spun completely through 1st. Crazy part is, I beat a stock STI and a 08' Mustang GT by almost a half second each.

kgreen 10-02-2009 07:29 PM

u should def kill GT's all day but surprised the STI wasnt closer. u went to the ones by the dump right?

Red370 10-02-2009 07:45 PM

in clint, yeah.

kgreen 10-02-2009 08:06 PM

that sucks..i wish we could build a real legit one but that wont happen for awhile
