Aren't Porsche Cayman and 911, mid & rear engine, respectively? Those setups are what enable faster acceleration with "about the same hp & torque." There's no magic or "German engineering"

I disagree that the 370 or prior Zs were meant to be a "cheaper alternative" to Porsches. I always thought they were cheaper alternatives to Corvettes, with the exception of the Z32 TT. |
