BMW E92 M3 or Nismo 370z Tech?

So, my lease is up SOON... Should I buy a CPO E92 m3 or a brand new Nismo 370z Tech?

I like REALLY like the M3 but expensive for repairs, 370z is beautiful and sexy BUT the interior looks kind of old, love the seat but not the plastics...

M3 is faster but I love the way Nismo's sounds...

So which one?

kenchan 10-08-2014 01:16 PM

3cpo?

ouchie 10-08-2014 01:23 PM

:) Hah! Certified Pre-Owned

Z-Girl 12 10-08-2014 01:59 PM

Cpo m3

2011 Nismo#91 10-08-2014 02:09 PM

Are you ok with a used sports car with 30K-50K miles on it?
If yes get the M3.
Else get the Nismo.

mishuko 10-08-2014 02:11 PM

Mileage and year? Just because cpo doesn't mean crap. Me personally I would never buy a used bmw anymore. If you do get one, grt the warranty and don't let it end

UNKNOWN_370 10-08-2014 02:15 PM

Yep. Used BMW unreliability for near New Z pricing? That's a no brainer. Maybe if you were leasing a new one I might give it thought? Maybe?

critical 10-08-2014 02:19 PM

what do you want out of a car? do you plan on modding it? i wouldn't drive a stock Nismo. it's not very pleasant. 50k is a lot for a Z too. for 50k you can get a twin turbo z that'd spank M5's if that's what you're about

I leased a 2011 BMW 335i and I never had any problems, but yeah German does NOT mean Honda/Toyota quality

edk370 10-08-2014 02:26 PM

Who here has owned/leased an E92 M3? Ok, tell us about the reliability.

That's because those turbo bimmers start messing up at 75,000 miles.

6MT-Z34 10-08-2014 02:32 PM

M3 is a really good car, but like people said unless you get an extended warranty you might want to think twice...the person that leased the car new probably beat the crap out of it and didn't maintain it properly for two reasons: 1. expensive 2. lease, so who cares...gl with your choice

About 5 of my friends. Leased and Owned, with 2 of them supercharge. Almost all of them have been to tracks at least 6x a year, never had any problems.

Now my problem is warranty 60k miles vs 100k miles, 40k miles is A LOT

edk370 10-08-2014 02:44 PM

^get low mileage one then. I actually like the e92 M3 because it's NA v8. The styling is still relevant imo. The M4 might be unreliable with time.

I have experience with an 09... went from ~70000km to 130000km and we had to fix everything. Only thing that wasn't changed was the engine block and pistons.

Mind you the m3 is NA so it's a different beast. I'd definitely shy away from a used turbo BMW.

Totally agree... BMW has an oil change guide at 15000 km... I questioned the crap out of that everytime. Remember what they say about BMW owners and porccupines... take that into consideration when buying it.

And change the spoiler, side skirts and rear bumper to the previous NISMO

Kamzeelover 10-08-2014 03:02 PM

I still want a 370z but $45,000 for a nismo? The new gt mustang 5.0 is $38,0000 and the 370z cannot beat it In a straight line or out handle it stock for stock. Nismo is overpriced

After lurking this forum for 3 weeks I've realized you try way to hard to be funny, also you should drive your car more instead of leaving it In the garage. It's a nissan not a classic porshe bro, drive the car and enjoy it

The last GT 5.0 was faster than an m3 at the track or similar times, the 370z stock tested cannot out handle a gt mustang.

diego@vossen 10-08-2014 03:17 PM

Nismo is a great car, enjoy it being the first driver. Get it new!

hahaha, cant scratch the kenchan at your level. :icon17: ;)

jlo370z 10-08-2014 03:26 PM

do you plan on modding the car? if you do, Nissan is WAY WAY cheaper , and a far wider selection.

example 370z full exhaust 1500 tops...... m3.... 3600 to 4500 for full exhaust

carbon fiber rear diffuser Z 800 , M 1400

if you plan on modding, the z is the way.

you could always do both ;)

BMW engineering sucks lately, i heard the m3 v8 engine has bearing's clearance problems(in general bmw bearings are like nissan suspension bushings its ok now but if u push it they will fail) which caused engine failure under load for long periods of time. Kinda like nissan without an oil cooler, but unlike bmw it costs less to repair and less to fix their fuckups. I say get the 370z + boost till 500 whp same price better performance and fun.
