Default Love the Paddle Shifters

I love the paddle shifters on a tight twisty road when keeping both hands on the wheel is a good idea. Probably isn't a big deal on a track or a more open road.

I went up the newly paved GA SR180 this weekend where the penalty for error is pretty big. They worked great.

I also went over the Cherohala Skyway but they aren't really a big deal there.

They are just another toy to play with while having a good time in the Z.

OP... that's cool. Glad you're having fun. I like rowing the gears on my manual around tight twisty roads but I'd like to try the paddle shift thing too. I hear autos are a little faster but you'll never hear us admit that either.

I agree with "to each their own". My very first experience with paddle shifters on the Z was on a track. I was completely befuddled. My shifts were terrible, and my lines were all over the place. I even hit the windshield wiper stalk unnecessarily. Of course, the GoPro was right above one, making it bend horribly

I got back into my own 6MT a few hours later on the same track and felt like I was home

My wife really wants a 7AT Z now (it was her 6MT Z originally). I think it would be a great idea - I can get more practice with those paddle shifters

Had a similar experience when I test drove the Z prior to purchase. Decide to go with the old tried and true.

My first time ever sitting in a Z was in a auto. I was annoying with laggy feel.

I actually have paddle shifters in my veloster too. Never use it because it is annoying.
