Since I can only own one car (at least until my daughter graduates college), I thought I was "settling" on the 7-speed. I was wrong. The tranny changes gears plenty fast and, although, I do, at times, miss rowing gears manually, I have only one complaint - the paddle shifters don't rotate with the steering wheel. Other than that, it shifts hard and it shifts quickly. Does the AT shift at light speed? No, but for the money, I'll put it up against anything. For twisty roads: you'll get used to finding the paddle shifters after a little seat time. For launches: turn VDC off, place your left foot on the brake, and find the right RPM for your Z. |
