6 speed rocks. Driving an automatic Z It's like riding an automatic Harley Davidson. (if existed) (and if you know about motorcycles) ruins the fun out of everything.

Riding a Harley-Davidson ruins the fun of motorcycling.

I had that going until last year. 2007 1200 Roadster with mods and my Ducati 848 beside it. The HD got sold because I never rode it anymore.

Riding a Harley is boring to begin with. Use a better metaphor next time

Using "like" or "as" = simile

A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes a subject by asserting that it is, on some point of comparison, the same as another otherwise unrelated object. It is a figure of speech comparing two unlike things without using either "like" or "as". It is not to be mistaken with a simile which does use "like" or "as" in comparisons. Metaphor is a type of analogy and is closely related to other rhetorical figures of speech that achieve their effects via association, comparison or resemblance including allegory, hyperbole, and simile.

Courtesy of WIKI and honestly guys enough with the English lessons.

New member here who has never owned a car with an AT... until I bought my '09 Touring several weeks ago.

Since I can only own one car (at least until my daughter graduates college), I thought I was "settling" on the 7-speed. I was wrong. The tranny changes gears plenty fast and, although, I do, at times, miss rowing gears manually, I have only one complaint - the paddle shifters don't rotate with the steering wheel. Other than that, it shifts hard and it shifts quickly. Does the AT shift at light speed? No, but for the money, I'll put it up against anything.

For twisty roads: you'll get used to finding the paddle shifters after a little seat time. For launches: turn VDC off, place your left foot on the brake, and find the right RPM for your Z.

Soon or late more and more cars will not come with MT, I think it is cool and great to drive a 70s or 80s classic like a Porsche 911 or whatever else people like and shift through the gears and all, but as cars get faster, heavier, and more complex is seems silly to be shifting gears, especially when some cars have some sick sequential transmission that can shift like F1 cars.

Porsche 911 Turbo and GT3 no longer come in Manual, Nissan GTR is a good example, and of course all the exotic cars only have sequential gear box as the only choice.

no exotics come with sequential boxes. those are only used for race cars. exotics come with dual clutch transmissions or very fast shifting automated single clutches.

Unless you keep your hands on the steering wheel at exactly at 9 & 3 the whole time on twisty roads (don't know how you would do that), stationary paddle shifters are the way to go.

Think of it this way, you're driving your 6 mt trans car hard around a curvy track. You reach down to change gears and wtf, the shifters not there, it moved 4 inches to the right. 6 seconds later you gotta shift again, wtf it's not there again, it moved 3 inches up and to the left......you get the message.
