Well the autos will bark 2nd gear and chirp 3rd just like the manuals so paddle shifters are very fun to use once you figure them out. They shift instantly and hard while on the throttle just like the shift kits back in the day.

I just found out today the new tlx has a 9 speed DCT. Honda is coming up in the world now. Also I would put money on the next gen Z will have either a sequential tranny or a DCT with no option for a man tranny. Another reason to keep my Z.

I can definitely say that I miss the 6 speed a lot. I bought the seven speed auto just because I thought I was tired of manual cars. But after a few weeks I did miss it. Dont get me wrong I track my auto and it is fast the paddle shifters work great and I can spin the wheels in 2 and 3rd gear no problem but I miss the third petal. I know that the stick shift days are numbered with the DCT being favored by many European, and Asian car manufactures. I guess we can still look forward to American Muscle.

My next car will probably be a flappy-paddle box, as long as it's DCT. None of this torque converter stuff.
I guess that leaves the C63 AMG out. :( |

Another reason I got the AT is the accelerator on the 370Z sucks. The 350Zs I had were much better and they were manual transmissions. When I test drove the 370Z I felt it was too much effort to drive smoothly. I don't know why they now have the accelerator pivot on the floor. This my biggest complaint with the 370Z. It is much better than the 350 in every other way.
