Do you think it's a problem that the Z has no backseats?
I'm been debating weather to get the G37 journey with premium coupe or a 370z. Both get to 60mph in 5 seconds right but the Z is a bit lighter. Last night it was my friends birthday party. I picked up my friend who's basically my neighbor and we went. After the party the neighbor and the bday girl wanted to goto the bar and have a few beers. If i had the Z i couldn't do this. Do you think that back seats are a problem in the Z?
Well, say there were 5 hot womens that wanted to go with you. The G37 would then have a problem and you'd need to get an Navigator to get your party on!
See...I see this as a bonus.
It's a good excuse to leave the dude behind! |
I had a Titan Crew Cab before the Z. When a few of us from work would go out to lunch I would drive more often that not as I had the most room. I didn't being the driver then but now that I have the Z it's nice to let others put the few miles on their vehicle and use their gas.
If you like being the group driver then yeah, the Z is not for you. But if the Z is what you want let somebody else do it. |
2 girl passengers can sit on each others laps. With 1 guy passenger and 1 girl..the guy can find another ride.

I don't miss having a backseat. Besides as long as you're not picking up fat chicks you can fit 2 on the passenger seat and the small contortionist in the hatch. She will need the warm-up stretches anyway. -William |
I think the fact that you are asking this question means you need to be buying a G37

If u don't have an alternate car or want to have a car to impress the chicks while having ur friendz in the car. Go with the G. Jus remember those back seats are built 30 minutes or less. U not doin any road trips in the G's baxkseats. But if u want to get 3 buddies to the frat party or a few of u gotta do sum beer runs... lol The G will work jus fine. |

2 seats right? One for you and one for the bitch you are going to bang.Don't get any better then that! If you think you can make all your friends happy all the time you have alot to learn. |
i have a G35C but the ONLY time the rear seat was used was during the test drive with my wife in the back seat, sales guy in the front seat, me driving. i always wanted a 2 seater and the
370Z does great.... as my hobby car. :p get another car to transport people. |
Man, come on do you really have to ask? THE 370Z IS A SPORTS CAR AND MAKES NO PRETENSIONS AT HAVING BACK SEATS. Some so called sports cars have back seats but you need to be an amputee to fit there. for example look at the 911 or Jag XK both have back seats but really it is more of a parcel shelf. these car manufacturers who give their sports cars back seats are lying cause they're not.

z34 = 2 seater = true sports car = Real Talk
Hell no, its great. my friends always want me to drive my red cady(4x4) now it's like get your *** in your own car. i'm single no kids, dont need alot of room
I look at it like since the Z is a two seater that means my car isnt the first or second option when going out to the clubs or parties with friends. It also means that I dont have to drive so I can get wasted. :barf:
If you think girls are going to be happy riding in the back of a small 2+2, you might be surprised :)
That being said, it just depends on what you want. The Z is a sports car, the G is a tourer. |
If i only had one car I'd prob get the G. Not so much for the passenger space for me, but the storage space. I can't fit my dog in the Z, much less any large box. If this is your only car and you honestly like them both equally get the G. I kept my old car as my daily driver (was only worth like $6K anyway) and GREATLY prefer the look, handling and potential of the Z which I use just for myself or on dates. Don't regret the decision at all.
Having a 370 as a daily driver is rough. Having a usable backseat definitely comes in handy even if you rarely have ppl back there. I decided not to buy a SL500 because it didn't have a backseat and purchased a CL500 instead. If the 370z was my only car I don't know if I would have chosen it. Then again the car is so great if I had trade in my Benz for it I would.
after owning a 350z, i am never ever ever everevrever going with a 4 seater+... with a 2 seater i feel closer to the car like its just me and her:driving:
I'll just say this, I haven't driven under the influence since I've bought my Z back in January for obvious reasons.
I have always owned a Z, so I don't mind no rear seats. That's what the wife's suv is for.
No back seats in the Z won't bother me, but it sure sounds like it would bother you. Get the G dude.
I'm with the others; if you have to ask, you already know. Keep your existing 4 seater as a back-up, or go with the G.
I think it would only be a problem if the Z became a two-seater spontaneously. However, I think more than half the people who buy 370Zs do so knowing that it only has two seats.
omg guys, you have to help me. I just drove my 370z home from the dealership and someone stole my backseats!
When I had a 350Z, I was able to pick up 2 girls (they were friends), and they both hopped in and one sat on the other's lap...I guess it just depends on your taste. If you like big thick women, then you have to get a bigger car...the 2 girls I picked up were both about 5' tall and weighed probably around 90-100lbs....

Yea but the dealership told me it was supposed to be like that...I mean wtf? A sports car with only 2 seats? What's next..it's gonna be noisy too? Who would want a noisy sports car?! :-P
Yeah in your case it may be, sounds as if the G coupe is for you and your lifestyle. I have my Z and I kept my 03 Max SE for when I need space, which I love driving as well. My girl has G Sedan, we are VQ junkies.......
I've always had a Vette, ZX, or even an ascMcLaren which was a 2 seater mustang back in the 80's. So it was always my choice to have a sports car and something else older with more seats to drive when needed.
When Nissan stopped making 300ZXs. I needed to my trade my 100,000 mile 92 300ZX in on a new car so I thought I'd try a new Maxima and go with one car. It wasn't bad but when it was time to trade that in Nissan was back with the 350z so I'm back with my old plan for good as long as Nissan keeps making Z's. There is an up close personal feeling to a two seater that you just can't duplicate. This a general statement and I'm not counting the ugly 4 seater ZX's (never liked um) and Porsche 911's with their baby jump seats (i'd be crazy not to consider this a sports car) I like the response if you're asking you need the G. |
Well here's the thing, I do have 4 seats but only use them when I feel like, otherwise I throw the "my car will rub excuse" or simply the more straight forward one "get the fck in your own car"
If you have kids however and need to use the back seats, that's a different story, maybe you should look into a sedan for more convinience. |
No offense to the OP, and I usually don't make posts like this, but this seems like a useless thread to me. The Z is what it is, a TWO seat sports car. You know that going in. You should also know whether you need a back seat or not. If you don't, and want a sports car, buy a 2 seat sports car, if you do, get a 2 door sport sedan with a back seat.
