car cover
Should be getting my new Z later this week or so.
Since I won't have room to garage my ride I am thinking about getting a generic car cover. Something that will hold up pretty good to rain & UV protection. I was looking through amazon (I have a gift card) and they have some covers that varies in price and brands from $25 and up.. Not looking to spend a but loads cause hopefully sometime in may 2015 I'll move out and have a garage. Just wondering if you guys have any brands in particular that u guys might b using. |
I have this one.
It works pretty well, but crap can gather underneath it if left covered for too long. I think that's more because the car is under trees, but a little dust is better than sap, leaves, and bird crap. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
My 2010 Nismo is at 70,000 miles and daily driven....
When its not in motion the Nismo OEM car cover is always on it.... Pearl White paint looks as good as day one................ GL amigo............ https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/images/13183l.jpg  |
Woah!
Sweet custom cover but not looking to spend that much one. I was thinking more in the under $100 for sure. Something generic. As of now I would use a car cover some what on a daily basis since I don't have room in the garage. But once I get the room I plan putting in the garage most of the time and use the cover when needed. Quote:

I'm not sure you're going to find a quality car cover for the price you're looking for. Buying a cheap one can do more harm than good to your car. Note that I said I'm not sure you will find a cheap one; someone on here who knows far more than I do may be able to help you locate one.
http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...er-your-z.html I'd take a look at that though, just for some reading on what to look for and if its worth it to buy one at all for your specific situation. He recommends covercraft, but they are a bit pricey. If you're in a situation where you really need a car cover though, the price is worth it. |
Ive been wanting one too. I don't like it sitting out under Cali sun.

I always worry about the cover doing more harm than good. Mine is a daily driver and I cannot wash the car before putting the cover on everyday. I worry about all the grit and grime the car picks up on the highway going to and from work. That would then get ground in to the paint with the car cover (not to mention get embedded in the cover itself). It seems like a disaster for scratches to me. Am I just being paranoid?

An ill fitting cover will beat the crap out of your paint even more than a perfect fit one. Spend the extra money and get the correct one. If it's $100 more, that's less than you would pay to have your car polished out once the generic cover takes it's toll on your paint.

cheap ones will actually stick to your paint and transfer this cloudy film when left outside for a long time. |
