Now my thought is that this is probably more likely due to noise (random differences dyno to dyno reading) and that some of those non-Nismo dynos were on modded but untuned cars. I can confirm that the OEM H-pipe and catback is MUCH better than either the OEM non-Nismo or Weldina Nismo Y-piped exhaust.

What's the difference between HP & Torque in real world driving. The 370z has the same torque as the old one but more horsepower? So where would one experience the difference driving

In a nutshell, torque gets you off the starting line and HP gets you across the finish line.

HP=(RPM * T) / 5252 A car with high TQ relative to HP simply means it doesn't rev up as high as should. How fast a car accerates, after the car has passed 5,252rpm is a funtion of THE AREA UNDER THE CURVE. The curve a function of the rpm ranges as dictated by gearing. This is why something like a 290hp NSX with much less TQ, destroyes a 370Z in a straight line. Torque is only useful really for 0-60 times and trucks that need to pull things. In sports cars where you're in gears 2-6 much more than gear 1, HP is much more important. Last edited by 0101; 10-03-2014 at 02:03 PM. |

Sorry, I wasn't clear.
S-tune = Weldina = Nismo Y-pipe = Crap. The Nismo "take-off" exhaust with H-pipe is MUCH better in terms of power and quality. Both sound good, but power aside, I kept getting cracks on the S-tune Y-pipe that needed to be welded... terrible
