Just paid my baby off!

I'm super stoked today! I bought/financed my 2010 Z back in 2011 and after a lot of hard work busting my a**, I was able to pay off the remaining balance today!!! :happydance:

Awesome dude, feels good to actually own your car. I paid mine off in June and ended up selling it 2 weeks ago. :icon14:

Limeybastard 09-26-2014 10:13 AM

The feeling must be good! Now take that amount you would have paid and put it to one side. Easier said than done.

Congrats!

For me though, I have a 60-month 0% loan with NMAC, so it won't be paid off for another three years. ;)

madwi 09-26-2014 11:42 AM

:vuvuzela: Congrats!

DEpointfive0 09-26-2014 11:44 AM

So now that you paid for your baby, is it going to be let out of slavery?

It's ok, I have dealt with them many times. Captain ásshole can deal with him.

cjeezy 09-26-2014 05:17 PM

Car payments suck.

Congrats! that is the American dream, own something that a bank doesn't

roadrash666 09-26-2014 06:55 PM

Congratulations! It's a great feeling when the bank no longer owns the car with you.

edk370 09-26-2014 07:00 PM

Congrats. A couple years ago, I was literally making $1,000 to as high as $2,000 a month payments. And in about a year, I paid my 370 off.

It took a lot of perseverance and living a "lonely" life to do it. I rarely went out, was super frugal, etc. But ironically, I sold my 370 shortly thereafter.

Now, go celebrate by visiting a Porsche or Chevy dealer and trade it in for a C7 or 991 ;) It's an earn-and-spend treadmill world we live in LOL!

Haha. It's VERY tempting...but I think I'm going to just bank the payments I'd be making. I also have an 04 Wrangler that I might fix up a little more too.

mab864 09-27-2014 08:24 AM

That's awesome... congrats! I'm working pretty hard to do the same thing in the next several months. I've got the 0 interest for 60 months thing too but I still don't like having car payments. I've got a couple months left till she's paid off. It will make my mod budget a little easier to justify when I own this baby.

Magic Bus 09-27-2014 03:18 PM

Congrats  Now go out and get yourself a date :icon17:

joseZhartford 09-29-2014 01:09 AM

congrats now just wait for the z35 to trade it in

zguynate 09-29-2014 01:39 AM

Man idk what these other guys are talking about. You own that car, don't get rid of it now lol. Drive that thing until the wheels fall off. Then buy some new ones and drive it some more lol.

not only does that sound depressing but you just lost a large percentage of your 'equity' invested... =(

if you were going to make many sacrifices like you have atleast hold onto it for a bit longer?

Cars do not build equity. They're liabilities no matter what...unless you're talking collector cars that people will pay big $ for at auctions.

Naw, I wasn't depressed. I see coworkers who live up to their eyeballs in debt. I don't like the feeling of being tethered to lots of debt. I don't see that as happiness, but rather STRESS. I'm digressing a bit, but I see guys spend all sorts of money on cars, tech gear, clothes, going out every weekend, etc. but they still get no action with the ladies. To me, when you spend all that money and spin your OWN wheels...that's a pathetic life.

jcasti07 09-30-2014 10:38 PM

Congrats!!! You can put that money into going TT!

Bking 10-01-2014 11:05 AM

Congrats!!!! I just paid mine off yesterday! It feels great to make that final payment. Now I'm debt free, if you exclude the mortgage =|

370z_Roadster 10-01-2014 11:20 AM

Congratulations. It always feels good making the last payment on anything(especially an auto). As far as my Roadster is concerned, 58 more payments and she's all mine:roflpuke2:

Codename067 10-01-2014 12:42 PM

Congrats bro!

kfull 10-01-2014 08:15 PM

congrats! I have enough saved up that I could pay mine off but I figure with 0% financing, there's no rush. Is it true that it's worse for your credit if you pay a car off as opposed to paying the monthly payments? I have good credit anyways so I'm not too worried, but I was wondering about that.

Negative. Some loan companies might penalize you for paying off a loan before maturity date but most don't. And as long as you pay on the due date you're fine.

jayhuffdaddy 11-19-2014 11:57 PM

Made my last payment yesterday. I officially own my Z now.
