if ANYTHING i would say the evora is cool. exige yea not so much.

and #5 wrong again. i see about 20 corvettes a day. no joke. and many C7's are popping up quickly. i see multiple lotus' on a daily basis and my cars and coffee is overrun with them to where we actually have a lotus day along with our porchse day, exotic day, etc...

there are less Z's here than either of the 3 named.

well i see a couple 350s but those dont count. 370s theres barely any.

and cant blame the area i live in either. at my local cars and coffee we have 4 aventadors, 6 458's, a veyron, F40, Gt 250, carrera gt's, etc lol
I guess looks are subjective but it's hard to argue with performance. That little Toyota 4-banger will eat up anything but the most outrageously built Z and will give a stock C7 everything it can handle and then some.

Where I live I've only ever seen 3 Lotuses in person and they were all Elises, not Exiges. C7 Vettes are becoming a dime a dozen, 350s are common, there are a handful of 370s, and one other 370 Nismo that I know of.

Um, no. 260hp and 2000lbs, 0-60 in something like 4.1. Sounds like you're mixing up the Evora weight and the Elise power.

Vette all day, the new one is amazing. I've driven a bunch, sold a bunch, and have one of the first Z06's on order for a customer of mine. ******* epic.

I honestly find questions like this to be absolutely pointless. You bought a Z, which is great, welcome to the club. But now you are having second thoughts about it because you remembered that you had a crush on Corvettes. Honestly, why did you buy the Z in the first place if the love of your life is a 'Vette? You could have just saved the money you will inevitably lose on the trade-in and bought the 'Vette first. I think it's readily apparent that you have your heart set on the Vette, so go buy it. Nobody here is really going to be able to persuade you otherwise, and if they somehow managed to do so, you will spend the rest of your time wondering about it and driving yourself crazy. NOT WORTH IT!

And asking a web forum that is already biased towards the Z whether or not you should do said trade to me seems like a waste of time. This group is more objective than most, I will grant you, but you will still get plenty of people who will tell you the Z is the better bet, something that you may or may not agree with. So now we have rekindled the Vette vs. Z fight that happens every time someone asks this question. And believe me when I say that this same fight has happened many, MANY times before. You would have been better off searching the forums for one of the previous bouts. At least then you could have gotten the same info without having any of the eventual flames getting thrown at you.

And since we are on this topic anyway, screw the Vette, go buy a Nismo GTR and go piss of some Vette owners. You may find that more enjoyable.

Default "Made in Japan"

My stock Kawasaki ZX9R (10.3 sec ¼ mi) will beat the Vette in the video. For build and component quality sorry, you can’t beat “Made in Japan”. Both my 350Z and 370Z are engineering and assembly works of art. I have also owned a “68” Firebird 400, “69” Nova 396, a “75” Monza with a 262 V8 and a “62 “ Vette with a 327 / 350 hp drop-in. All of my GM “Hot Rods” disintegrated from the inside out. Push rod motors just don’t have the life span. They were all great fun while they lasted (About 50k miles before major engine repair) Our Nissan VQ37VHR engines are engineered about 3 decimal points greater to the right than the GM stuff. Also, to be fair, you should be looking at the GTR.

Didnt the C7s start around 55k? Those are a steal if you can drop 6 bills a month on a car. I wasn't ready for it yet, even though I considered it for months before the Z.

No regrets though, Im loving the Z!

Not sure where I belong in this back and forth but I love my '12 Grand Sport and I'm still in my 40s. Like the OP, I always wanted a Vette as well so he'll probably end up with one. The fit and finish are fine and the power is scary fast as it is.

I had a 370Z and if I had the money, would still have it if I could. Both Vette and Z are as common as Accords here and I've had positive comments on both. Whenever I see a Z around town, I still admire it as one of the most beautiful body shapes made.

I'm not going to bother with quarter-mile times and what "could" be with some mods etc. between the Z since and the Vette since I love them both and such arguments are just academic anyway. Since it was brought up, that 2-ton abomination Hellcat is going to need as much HP as it can muster just to beat a minivan and even if it won, it's still fugly.

Not trying to be a Hellcat cheerleader but where can I get a minivan that runs 10-11 seconds in the 1/4 mile stock? I laughed at it to when it fist came out but it's proven to be very competent and to say its slow is ridiculous.

I'm obviously exaggerating for fun but to also underscore the point that there's too much fixation on technical specs, HP and track times when ultimately, folks are going to get what they desire most inside.

I got my GS because I simply wanted one, not because the Z was bad or lesser in any way. In fact, I still think the Z is better looking. I never had a spreadsheet comparison of the two with performance differences, gear ratios, power-to-weight, top speed, track times and so on because none of that matters to me in the real world. As I said, if I could've afforded to, I would still have my Z as well. Hell, I'd still have a stripped down Miata track rat if I had more garage space.

I agree. Obviously the first item is the money. If that wasn't an issue we would all be rolling around in GTRs, Lambos, Veyrons, etc.

If you want more power than a Z, sure get a Vette. It may cost you more, but it's readily available. Hell, lets not forget the fact that there are stock cars that can eat a Vette for lunch, wipe off their chin, and ask for seconds. But a majority of those cost even more, frequently breaking the 6 figure mark. So now we come back to the whole "Bang for the Buck" bit.

Sure, the Vette is impressive for it's price point. There is no way that GM would do anything less for a car that they've been making for over 60 years. For $60-70k (less if you are willing to buy used) you can own a car that will leave the vast majority of vehicles on the road back in the dust. The Z can claim the same thing (albeit to a somewhat lesser extent), but can claim it for $15-20k less. So which is more important; saving the money, or having the power? Answer that question, and you have your answer to the original question.

Wanna talk mods, sure, but the funny thing about mods is that what can be done to one car, can most likely be done to the other. And as the old adage goes, "There is no replacement, for displacement." Hell, throw enough money at anything, and you can make it king of the hill, if only for a little while. I think Hennesey proved that when they took a Lotus Elise/Exige, modded the **** out of it, dropped a Chevy 427 with TT in it, and made a car that outruns the highest tier Bugatti Veyron, and for roughly half the money.

But then again, opinion trumps all. As Nargrakhan had already stated, the OP has already made up his mind, but he seems to want someone to talk him out of it.
