The only thing holding me back actually from buying a z actually is the performance just isn't there for the money.
Lol. Mustang??? With the most numb steering and seats that feel like your sitting on a lounge chair.
Camaro 1LE will rag tag mustang azz around the track.
The Z is for people that like being one with the machine. Mustang are for people who like sitting on a machine and feel nothing but forward movement... Quickly.

Z down on power? Lol. Only if you don't know how to manipulate the throttle. Ride with me... I guarantee you, you'll need a diaper. Lol.

Thanks to Ken Chan for quoting this, I had not yet seen this. I've put all your post together in my mind and it seems like the Z just isn't for you. You have brought up the car not having a good bang for the buck in 4 out of 6 of your post. I don't know what you factor in a sports car to achieve your bang for a buck ratios but I do believe the Z is one of the best cars for the buck. Sure, it's straight line speed isn't the best but where it lacks in one department it flourishes in others.

It's rare, quite fast, handles well, stops well, and it looks better then any car ok the road doing it IMO.

OP one of the first things you said..."I've been in love with the Vette"...go for it...I've known ppl who have owned Vetss for as long as I've been around and they don't smile as much as I do when I look at my Z and can't speak from experience but in time with all the fiber glass thngs beging to loosen up and the squeaks start. I turn off my radio and hear nothing but the engine which is music to my ears and yes I'm in love with my Z, just don't tell my wife

The Z is way too sexy to give up, plus with all the aftermarket parts and routes you can go with it's just a beast. For the money Id rather turbo the Z and make it a sleeper.

I'd wait a while on the C7 there have been lots of issues with that car. I believe Car & Drivers corvette needed a new engine after a few thousand miles and then there is this.

Vettes are so played out IMO. Almost every time I see one it's a red convertible with a guy with gray hair driving it. I don't know, but to me it kind of lost it's "cool" factor. As other's said before, the C7 is a different story..those are pretty sick.

Why not just get a Hellcat?

Guys with gray hair can't be cool?

Back on topic. The C7 appears to be a great sports car for the price, but there are quite a few issues with it. My suggestion is research the Corvette forums as well as the online magazines before jumping in with that much money to buy a C7.

I've done my due dilligence and I wouldn't buy the Vette at this time. But I believe Chevrolet will work out most of the issues in due time, so as I mentioned in another post, the 2016 model year would be the first one I'd get.

I say, enjoy your Z for now and look to swap it out for the C7 in two years.

Actually the Hellcat has really good numbers handling wise. If that's the only reason you don't like it I would do some more research...
