z or vette

That's my thing, I wouldn't switch from a car with fairly little problems to a car with so many problems they have already stopped selling them

I do understand where your coming from. GM sucks!
But when it comes to vett. Its a different ball game. Its their Gem,its the very essence of their existence.

Just as Nissan sucks with their Sentra's but when it comes to the Z and with the GTR its like a different world to them.

Nola? Have you owned a vett?

No sir, but I've long been in love with them. I have been keeping up with them pretty heavily since 04ish. I would love to own one but I can't afford one nor would my wife allow it. I've usually been impressed and still am with the new Vettes but at this time it feels wrong recommending a Vette.

Personally I'd keep the Z. My car eats vetts all day. My father owns a Vett and I've driven it many times fast yea, but over priced and everyone has one. Plus for half the price you can make a z way better. I'm just a Z lover, so Z all the way

I like the newer ones (in hardtop) but I'm not sure how I'll feel about them 10 years from now. Zs age well and you can always go FI if you want it to be stupid fast.

If I could have any Vette it would be a C3 modded all to hell. Nothing between 1982 and the new C7 really impresses me to be honest.

having owned both, I liked my z, but love my C7. it rides nicer, much better interior. honestly if the z had a better engine i think i would have kept it, but it just wasnt smooth/powerful enough. still love the z looks though!

The Z is way too sexy to give up, plus with all the aftermarket parts and routes you can go with it's just a beast. For the money Id rather turbo the Z and make it a sleeper.

I'd wait a while on the C7 there have been lots of issues with that car. I believe Car & Drivers corvette needed a new engine after a few thousand miles and then there is this.

Vettes are so played out IMO. Almost every time I see one it's a red convertible with a guy with gray hair driving it. I don't know, but to me it kind of lost it's "cool" factor. As other's said before, the C7 is a different story..those are pretty sick.

Why not just get a Hellcat?

OP I know how you feel. I feel C7 bound as well but I am holding out for the Z06. This weekend I was at the track and fell back in love, or lust, with my Z. C5 and C6 Corvettes were slowing me down on the turns and overall slowed my track times. The 370Z is quite a car for so little money.

but that's a huge amount of money you're probably going to waste.... well, if you luv vettes then it's not a waste i suppose.

I'd wait out a year for the vette, just so all the bugs get fixed. Nothing worse than looking at something that pretty just sitting in your garage if you can't drive it.

The question is, will he love it after he has owned it for a year.

Never buy a first year model. Vettes are all over the place so they are not unique. The standard C6 is good, can a Z keep up with it? Not a Z06 C6. Those are fairly rare though. Vette's before that the Z will likely keep up. So I don't think performance is a good reason. With some mods the Z will be in contention with a base C7 and looks elegant doing it. The C7 is all edges and stuff.

Even so, I do like the looks of the C7.
