You know what my dude? You're absolutely right. Not only that... There are more Z owning Z haters in our forum than any other brand. Most Z owners really don't understand what they bought. Most are wishing they'd cram the 5.0 s into the chassis or they wish the car was a Porsche, or wish is there a car can beat a ZL1 and never really understand that they bought a naturally aspirated v6 that in reality is faster & more powerful than any other naturally aspirated v6 out there. its a v6 that runs like a mid pack V8 and members still are not satisfied.

I want a turbo six not because the VQ is not a great engine. it's only because tuning a naturally aspirated engine is very very expensive. That's not Nissan's fault, that's the fault of the aftermarket and the commercialization of the tuning hobby. A turbo engine will drive the cost of mods n tune down in terms of price per horsepower

I don't think it's right to call everyone who owns a sports car who's not a track junkie a poseur unless they talk like it. It's completely fine to buy a sports car and DD it if that's what you want to do as long as you don't act like you know a ton about cars and driving. I ma no car expert and have only been tot he track twice and done a few canyon runs and mostly DD'ed my Z. I don't think I am a poseur though, since I never claimed to know a lot or be an expert driver. I know a great driver in a miata can whip a poor driver in a Z around the track and a likewise with a Z and vette. Sure, I would liek more power, but you always want more and I still love my Z and don't complain about 5.0s being or vettes being faster (numbers-wise). Anyhow, just saying not all guys mainly DD'ing their Zs are poseurs (unless they talk and drive like douches and think they're faster than anything around, then they are)

I'm also somewhat disappointed at the lack of love for the Z body design. Speed is not the only thing that makes a great sports car, and the Z is absolutely beautiful. She's got curves in all the right places. :yum:

I come back because I like this forum and I still think the Z is a great car. No hate here. Fit and finish of the Z I had was top notch, very well put together. Some good folks on here and I like to keep up on what Nissan might be coming out with down the road. Other sub-forums are great too, especially the detailing forum and the Junkman. It irks me on other forums when people make fun of the Z, call it a Datsun ricer car and all that jazz just to downgrade it. They especially hate it for the door handles but really that is just a small point IMHO. I agree, speed is not everything. I'm a true car guy, hell I even like Miata's, S2000's all the way to Challengers, Mustangs, you name it I can appreciate it for what it is and the connection it has to people for various reasons.:tiphat:
