z or vette

I will add that with the C7, from what I've seen, the average age if guys buying them is WAY lower than it was with the C6. Excluding the first batch which was all older collectors.

i havent seen 1 man under the age of 55 with one yet and they are a ton of C7's in my area already.

maybe in Florida it's different when the avg age is 70 so 50 seems younger lol :rofl2:

You just have to find the right crowd. When I lived in Texas, there were a bunch of younger guys that owned Vettes... highly, highly modified. They only came out at night and did illegal things on the streets, lol.

Chevrolets newest headache.
In "valet" mode the Vette records driving data and the driver. Now that's been deemed illegal without the drivers consent.
I guess with thinking like that my security camera at home is illegal without the burglars consent.

I got a flyer from State Farm for my wife's Sentra offering a discount if she signed up. The catch is that she has to link her car with software so it can report her driving habits to them. Of course nothing was offered to me with my Z. I wonder why?
Yea the black box is not limited to planes anymore.

I would have bought a C6 Z06 if it didn't have ground clearance issues.
The Z scrapes some where I drive. Corvettes have long noses and are lower, so no way it would work.

yea i've driven my firends C6 many times and it's so much worse than driving the Z.

sadly he's never paid for any of his 3 vettes and he just bangs the nose off of everything without care. makes me sad for the car. :shakes head:

nor does he ever wash it or do any mechanical care. it's like a neglected child. i wanna go adopt it like i'm brad & angelina lol

just this child would be american. they dont do those things lol

All of the insurance companies are pushing the black boxes. Progressive just thinks they're cute with their little silver one and having their in house marketing doll push it. Rental car companies have been using them for years now, as have a number of fleet companies.

Personally, I refuse to use them, even with a huge discount. It will probably take more than a new law to make me put one in any vehicle I own.

I like the way the new c7 looks. It's definitely a sexy car but I'd turbocharge the Z and blow right by it.

Only other car I would consider at the moment would be an STI because so many obv. reasons.

Corvettes have never been appealing to me. Definitely wins the bang for the buck performance factor though. The new c7 really caught my eye when I first saw it, but they are popping up everywhere lately in my area. By next year it'll be around every corner like the c6. That's not a bad thing but I think that makes it feel less 'special'. It's all preference. I personally have no desire to own one.

hahaha got mine in 2012 at 23, going to be a while before it's payed off though lol :/

Turbocharging your Z won't be enough to blow by the C7.

Straight line speed for sure. But what about everything else? It might be able to keep ahead of a Vette on a road course, but after 3 laps you'll either go into limp mode due to oil temps, fuel starvation, ice mode, csc failure, hmmm.. did I miss anything... oh, or your steering lock with go out before you even get on the track, lol.
