There are two kinds...no four kinds of sports car people.
1. The 'Fun to drive' crowd. These people buy 4 banger turbos. 2. The 'Not willing to give up comfort' crowd. These people spend a lot more. 3. The 'V8 no V13! Bwahahaha power' crowd. These people believe power overcomes everything and buy US muscle cars. 4. The 'Sports cars are sports cars' crowd. These people buy Zs. Honestly, if you are turned off by the Z's 'harshness' then I'm not sure it is a good choice. Luckily for me the 370 still holds on to some of its heritage as a value sports car that is rough around the edges but a true sports car in every sense. It requires that you drive -and- respect it. Watch the Top Gear episode it was featured in. Just look at Jeremy's smile. This car wants to be driven and driven hard. It is the quintessential Japanese muscle car and I love it.

Q50 costs more than 370, both starting and optioned out. You complained of price being issue. But me personally, Q50 because it's newer and has hybrid option.

Want a 370z but concerned before buying
I daly drive and track my z. I did not like the stock clutch at all. (It's kinda vague floating in the middle of a huge dead range.
I put in a tunable clutch pedal and now LOVE my clutch (300 bucks or so) The car is loud on OEM tires (and others too) it's a butch to fix but dynamat can help a lot. The powerband on our motor is great on the track. Harsh? I don't know. Awesome? Definately. If you really drive your car hard ( like I do on the track) the z is a no brainer for the money. If you just cruise around town? Who cares really... To me, it's a real sports car that needs just a little push (mods) to go from a pretty little cruiser to a real beast. Here is a list if great upgrades Clutch Flywheel Brake pads and fluid Oil cooler (some years) Upgraded (not VLSD) diff Do that and you'll be looking at a lot of Porsches an beemers in your rear view ( at the track of course) I think of mine as a very streetable track car.

g37 and 370z are similar engine wise. I dont like how the g37 looks or drives. To me, the g37 is confused between luxury and sport. Q50 is very nice, I just hate 4 doors to be my sport car.

You didn't say what model you were looking for but I suspect you would be happier with Sport model. Also as for 1st - 2nd shifts, you will find many here who will totally agree with you. It's mainly due to the unnatural clutch engagement point. This is easily fixed with RJM's adjustable clutch pedal. Just search on it & you'll find all you need to know. And if you decide to purchase one and still feel lonely because you see any others on the road, just move to Dallas where you can't drive 5 miles without seeing at least 2.

Thanks for the info and opinions guys but the 370z is a no go for me. Same with q50. I need more performance for the money. Thinking either mustang gt 5.0 or used c6 vette. Don't care about interior quality really.
