The fastest times, whether in a mag or on this forum, have all been the 7AT's and all are pretty consistent with one another.

The trap speeds we are seeing do not agree with your theory.....unless you are talking about speeds greater than 110, which may have a slight chance of holding true, but I doubt it.

12.8009 @ 110.33 Best pass with 370z sport with 7 AT.
12.95 @ 111.69 @ second best pass/

The car will run 13.3 to 13.4 all day when the moter is hot.
The olny way it goes into the 12.s if it the moter is slightly warm. ties preasure at 29 psig.and it is cold outside. Trust me i know
Time slip is posted in drag section 12.8 @ 110.33.
I removed all weight from the car including the passenger seat. spare tire mats ect. 4.08 gear, stillen intake exhaut and cats. It ran 13.201 @ 107.9 with just the intake.
Did they take the car to the drag strip or test it in a parking lot,
How did they get traction with the stock tires. (1.976 is my best 60 ft times on a fulley prepeted drag strip i was the 4th car down the track. I heard stories that they rolled the car 1 ft before they started to time it. Im pushing close to 308 to 310 rwhp. how does a car with 266 rwhp base line go 13.1's. I dynoed my car after every mod. Im also 100 lb lighter that a stock 370 z.
What would you estimate , my 0 to 60 times to be?
Look at some of the times posted in 370 drag times. They seem to be more realistic.
The harder you push the 7 AT the harder it shifts.
I have a gtm valve body and torque converter coming soon,
Have you ever tried to hold the gas and brake pedal for a good launch at the track. will not happen as the ecu bogs the motor at 2000 rpm.
I wish that i could race a stock 370z 7 AT at the drag strip and post the video and the times. I do not think that you would see a 13.1 pass.
You would see something like a 13.5 or higher.
Do not get me wrong i think that it is a great car but its not that fast at the track.
did they use a device to get the times ( g teck ect.)

chotyme 09-30-2009 10:28 AM

^^^ I ran a 13.1 stock..

You might want to take a look around the forum, there is a nice section for racing where people have been posting plenty.

Thanks for the tip.Was unaware.
I'll be looking for that 12.8 et. time slip?

zman1910 09-30-2009 01:55 PM

The slips are around. If you can't find them you aren't looking hard enough. That's the only way we are arriving at these conclusions...no blanket statements here.

I don't think anyone is claiming 12.8 stock. I see no problem getting there with HFCs, cold air intake, and catback. That's been demonstrated to get somewhere around 25 to 35 ponies or more on dynos on several cars here.

Edit: here's Z eliminator's slip....

Different tracks and conditions mean different times. Just because a stock auto 370z got 13.1 at one track doesn't mean that in canada, where you are, it would get the same 13.1. Every track is different which yields different times. For example, here in Vegas our track sucks and people get much slower times than one would think. You go a few hundred miles over to Arizona's track and times there are much quicker. It's all dependent of the track as well as the conditions of that particular day. So it's not some odd thing that stock Z's are running 13.1 while your moddified Z is going 12.8 dispite all that you have done.

I'm a little shocked too. I mean with all the possibilities of types of **** you had and all the mystery behind it, yet the controversy of 7AT vs 6MT continues. Oh well
