These tires have replaced the Yokohama Advans previously stock on the NISMO. Anybody understand the performance characteristics and what possible improvements these have over the Advans?

Bridgestone Potenza S001 tires on 2015 Nismo.
These tires have replaced the Yokohama Advans previously stock on the NISMO. Anybody understand the performance characteristics and what possible improvements these have over the Advans?

i ran advan sports on my nismo wheels before and they were good tires 70F and higher and in the dry. 60F and below, add wet and the tires were pretty bad when pushed.
they looked good though, i really liked the wide tread and bold shoulders/sidewall. i will not be buying another set. |

I have these as a spare set of rims. I never mounted them so I couldn't give you feedback as of yet. I am waiting for my current tires to wear out on my Forgestar wheels and then if I don't sell these by then I'll throw em on.

This is told by my local Bridgestone dealer,in S'pore,we only got S-001[flagship model],RE-002,for 19".But Bridgestone is selling very expensive here,S-001,245/40,285/35 are selling at S$2800.00,while my Michelin PSS costed only S$1900.00...

known for its good performance so saying S001's are the same is not a positive thing. RE11A's are the flagship model in my area from bridgestone. RE050A PolePositions on the other hand, were good tires. i liked those a lot and had similar characteristics as the S04's. S04's are better than the RE050A PP's though. you guys in singapore are paying a premium for anything that is labeled cool...? |

Thanks for the input guys but it sounds like no one is really sure. I agree with the Bridgestone pole position statement. And PSS is the go to tire for performance right now... But are there similar alternatives for about $1,000 straight. I'm on my third set of tires in 24,000 miles. I'm averaging 8,000 miles a tire. Sport pkg sizes run $1,500 per change after tax and service charge... I'm gettin hit. I remember the good old days when high performance tires were $800.
Any alternatives that are about $1,000 to 1,100 mounted My guess is the S001 potenza was chosen to reduce road noise? The RE50A potenza isn't bad under the right temps and conditions. And not bad in rain unless pushed. But PSS has a broader weather condition spectrum in which they run optimum. Summer tires in rain generally can perform well in normal speeds but the RE seems to lose a lot of traction at 50% tread vs pss.
