I'm so sorry to waste a thread on this but I seriously would absolutely love to know who the hell would put this on their $30K+ race car?? Seriously, I can't be the only one who thinks this is completely out of the question!!

frost 09-26-2009 05:14 PM

I own one, what's the problem?

Just kidding, I have no idea what that's for. Skis?

370z_Sith 09-26-2009 05:17 PM

:icon18:

Lmao!! I was scanning through e bay and found this. It's a
"350Z 370Z Hatch Rack for Bikes, Boards, Kayaks, etc!"

No freakin way is their going to be a bike or anything else on top of my Z!

theDreamer 09-26-2009 05:34 PM

I would do it if I had to travel to ride my bike.
A lot of people love their Z and love to ride bikes, if they only have one vehicle they need a way to transport it. Also, from what I am told it comes off easily, but you do not want to constantly take it on/off.

shumby 09-26-2009 05:40 PM

snow board and or ski rack. and if i skied or borded i would use it. seen a couple guys with G's use it. You don't leave it on if your not using it but if your lugging skies or snowboards it is kick *** piece of kit.

spearfish25 09-26-2009 05:48 PM

It's a great product. I may pick one up. It's made by Boofsquire.

It's also great for transporting light sabers in bulk. I mean, you're a Sith and all, so I figure you might have a need for practical light saber transport, right? (I'm just teasing.) ;)

I'm messin', too.....but the thought of light sabers on the car and I thought Star Wars kid.

Modshack 09-26-2009 06:07 PM

Race car????:hello:

frost 09-26-2009 06:08 PM

Modshack made something like this out of used toothpicks, hair, cherry seeds, and tears.

Worked better than this one, and it was free.

NewlyIMPORTed 09-26-2009 06:11 PM

my dad had a bike rack on his porsche 911 like a year ago and i was embarrassed to ride in it haha they are so dumb

m4a1mustang 09-26-2009 07:08 PM

I have one that I am willing to sell -- don't need it anymore.

To the OP... grow up.

kenchan 09-26-2009 07:19 PM

i guess you could carry a mattress with that thing...(?)

Yes, that's my car.

Anyways, I've got to go drive my race car to mattress depot for a Tempur-Pedic because this race car suspension just kills my back!

Except we all know that a true Sith race car looks more like this:

CBRich 09-26-2009 08:22 PM

Looks like a functional rack to me.

chief_Roka 09-26-2009 09:44 PM

Ill admit... it looks tacky as hell. Lol
But the avid sportsman will need one. :)

NeedforZ 09-26-2009 10:15 PM

All you haters of bike racks on $30k+ race cars just need to stop.

It just irks me that some people have the gall to call this a race car. :icon18:

370z_Sith 09-26-2009 10:45 PM

Ok, I get it. Some people would use it! Terrific! I guess I should probably reconsider posting an opinion next time. I didn't think I was the only one with more than one car.
As far as my comment on it being a race car. I guess you're right. I meant "sports car".. Does that qualify?? Just wanna make sure I don't "irk" anyone else.

I just figured if you have 30k+ bucks to drop on a "sports car" you would probably have another 15-20k bucks on a small used SUV. I guess I'm just a spoiled NY'er..Oh well.. So much for making conversation.

I apologize!

tooohip 09-26-2009 10:55 PM

Actually let me explain why I would do something like this. I drive a boring Taurus to work most days. On the weekend I like to get the mountain bike out and go exploring. This activity takes me to fun driving places around Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

I'd much rather drive my Z to these spots then my Taurus, so a bike rack is a great fit for me and my Z.

Nick911sc 09-26-2009 10:58 PM

I'd be too afraid of a bike going through my hatch window....

Makes sense. I guess I should probably see a doctor about my OCD.. ;)

Are the roads that bad in NY? :tiphat:

Trips 09-26-2009 11:06 PM

I agree with what some have said the product is designed for a single purpose and that's it if you don't like it fine but some people find it useful.

Singularity 09-26-2009 11:08 PM

I wouldn't call it ridiculous. It may look a bit tacky, but at least it's functional.
It's a Z, not a $250 000 Ferrari.

You'd be surprised...Some roads are great...But after winter the roads are so torn up from plows and salt corrosion that driving down the street sometimes can feel like dodging land mines.

I've seen many bent rims....(none mine luckily)

You would take your Z to a place that has enough snow to ski and board?

If you mount everything correctly that shouldn't even be a concern. The rack is solid and with a Yakima rail mount you could take your Z + bike to a track day and it'd be totally fine. You might get kicked out, but Z and bike would be fine. :icon18:

frost 09-27-2009 10:32 AM

I'd be too worried about scratching or some other "accident."

For anyone to put this kind of thing on a Z needs to sell their car and go to straight to Daewoo dealership and get a little cheap Korean car and put on their brown cardigan. Seriously what type of a person would do this to this car? It's like buying a Ferrari and put one of those stupid trailers on the back of it. these people should not have bought this type of car in the first place. OMG there are some sad buggers out there.
