Okay...I never intended to criticize those who did not DD their car. I apologize ig it got too far. I live about 2 hours south of St. Louis and it does snow a bit and does get dirty during the winters. Now that I got my newer 2013 Z, I am thinking that rather than buying a beater, I should consider buying Blizzaks and DD through the winter.
It snows only about 12 inches in the entire winter and there may be just 15-20 days that driving a rear wheel car could be dangerous. |

8 Vehicles for the road, three for the dirt, one for the snow. one for the water.
Z is just another hoe in my harem.

I like to keep my toys clean. It's the same reason I don't wear my nicest watch or my custom suit/shirts every day. I could, but why? A Z will do just fine in the winter with snow tires, but this last winter, we got 12inches of snow in one day. I'd rather have a second car. It's far more useful than just keeping the Z clean. If you're a home owner who has done renovations, you know what I'm talking about.

This is not the place to go all PC, is it? Apologies to the ladies. Insert "man" and "boyfriend" where applicable.

I dd the Z and only use my other car when it rains. So it is weather related as it was for many here in the forum. Now the Z will definitely be my daily rain or shine because I gave my daily to my son who went off to college.
What I wish however is the will other members have to let it rest for a little bit and use another car for a dd. I just don't have the will power. Yes I am weak.

Hey guys don't you know daily driving your Z is like making your beautiful wife plow the fields all day preparing to plant potatoes, stomping around in manure and dirt, coated with sweat and filth, and then you get to make love to her grimy, stinky *** all weekend. Don't you guys love your wives?

Those older cars may look ok, but I guarantee you there is significantly more rust on their exhaust piping if you compared it to a weekend driver's car of the same age and model.

Because this is Minnesota. It snows in November and the snow stays until March. Even if it was safe to drive a Z car in those kind of road conditions, it's most certainly not fun. Driving the Z car in the winter defeats the purpose of owning a car because it's fun to drive.

^^I'm with this guy. MN resident my whole life and ever since I've owned a nice car, I have had a winter beater. And when I say beater, I mean a POS that I don't care about. I typically pay $1000 or less, drive the crap out of it, then scrap it when it dies. Currently I have a 1991 Volvo and 1995 VW cabrio to beat up on in the winter. Combined I payed less than $1500. I have a 2004 VW Jetta I daily drive in the summer I don't think the Z would be safe in snow, I would never attempt it. |

It's all the other idiots that drive in the snow that are the reason I would never attempt it. That and the fact that I live in a location where our yearly snowfall is recorded in tenths of an inch.
