But even in that case, the driver could have taken much better care and secured the cargo... Especially if there's fragile cargo.

I doubt very seriously this was the drivers fault! I work for an LTL freight company and trust me, if you knew how this stuff got handled, before it even reaches the delivery truck, you would NEVER ship anything again. (I don't work for UPS btw) all of your packages get stuffed into a trailer by some guy who's getting a paycheck whether your package is in good condition or not. (keep in mind that not all of us that work for these types of companies are like that but 85% are).

I pretty much posted the same thing on the OP's FB post. Well before he posted this here.. but lets all rage on the ups guy who deliberately broke this guys stuff. UPS dude probably drives a mustang...
