Default Windshield replaced prior to buying not notified and RUST

Hey guys get this,

Got a chip in my brand new 14' 370z base 2 months into owning it. Safelite came out and did the repair in the process they found that there was rust all throughout the metal in which the seal contacts and careless scratches that were not primed as they were supposed to be. I was not made aware of this before purchase. What do you think I should do? Multiple people say I should look into sueing since this is not my first issue with multiple vehicles purchased from there.

Also others have experienced different issues in different cars.
The dealer is BillRay Nissan in Longwood, FL. FYI.

I would lawyer up as I doubt bringing it to their attention will come to any good. They will most likely call your bluff and figure you won't pursue it. Prove them wrong and seek action. You could bring it to the attention you would like to settle before filing a law suit to see if they will budge. Sadly most figure you don't have the time or money to actually take action. Just the way it is unfortunately. At least in my dealings.

I know replacing a windshield happens as I have had to have mine done and was there through the whole process. The frame gets scratched and they are supposed to put primer to cover those marks before adding the sealant and placing the new windshield. Otherwise you will have this exact problem.

I would want a new Z to make me whole. At the very least they would need to have a shop fix the damage before replacing the windshield.

Exactly what I was thinking thanks for the advice, Safelite did wire-brush the rust and seal everything but says I should think about taking legal action anyways since it was all kept a secret. He says hes seen cases where the car was in a wreck and everything was kept secret with many issues down the road.

I think I will go the lawyer route and shoot for them to replace the car time to go back to factory parts.

No problem. It is one of those things that if you never had to have the windshield replaced you would never know of the issue. However the dealership needs to make this right. It will probably be a difficult sell to get you in a brand new Z but compensation for the hidden damage isn't out of the question.

Need to learn all the facts of when/where the windshield was replaced. I would assume it was damaged during transport. The dealer either fixed it in house if they are equipped to do so or farmed it out. At which point the other business could of kept their shoddy job a secret from the dealer. However the dealer is still on the hook for not being up front that the windshield was replaced and for allowing whomever to do the repair that appears to be unqualified.

Good luck on getting the resolution you want.
