LSD is not needed? What do you mean? And what does it have to do with speed? LSD is for handling, not speed. You can always add an LSD. You cannot add the sport package later (because SRM). Sport package comes with crappy VLSD anyway, not a true LSD. To add true LSD later, the install will be different based on whether you have VLSD or not (i.e. whether you have the sport pkg or not). BT and leather are touring package items, completely separate from the sports package. Nav is an extra cost and requires the touring package. The auto is 7 speed. As for better mpg? That just depends on how you drive. The difference in mpgs between the 7AT and 6MT is going to be negligible provided they are driven in the same manner. |
Who said LSD isn't needed? That's not true.
Auto is faster than a manual? Sure, sometimes. But read up on clutches and torque converters and what exactly applies to the Z34 of your choice. Add the Sport package later? Sure, why not. Auto is better MPG? Yes, by like 1 mpg. Just curious, what do you drive now OP? |

Either way, I would recommend getting the sports package, especially on the manual. If you go with the AT, it's really not necessary if you plan to upgrade the wheels/bakes/LSD.
If you're not planning to go mod-happy, and wanna keep it (mostly) stock, definitely get the sports package. |

I dare say it's cheaper to renew a standard tranny than a "shifted like a standard" AT. Way cheaper. Sure, go ahead and paddle shift at every opportunity, even better at high rpms under load, even more better at scorching temps. I'll stick with the Manual that is a manual, instead of an AT that shifts like a manual and slowly degrades with being shifted manually up and down, etc. Now I would like to be able to select between the two, but not that's not possible at our price point.
I think for me an AT would be fine but not for some people - you know who you are :). |
