car died

Car died while driving, gas pedal stopped responding and steerinh wheel got tight. Coasted to the side of the road. Tow guy thinks it's the fuel pump. We'll see what my mechanic saysOk

Were you making a right turn? How much gas?

brucelidat 08-03-2014 01:44 PM

Full tank driving straight, not fuel starve

Dood that sucks. Keep us posted please. Hope everything works out and nothing 'really' major needs to be done. Best of luck man.

I'm just hoping it's not mod related, because then I need to figure out what mod or the tune that is causing it and I have pretty basic mods. The mechanic suspects the fuel pump. Hopefully it was juts a faulty part that's easy to replace and not something bigger issue.

How many miles on the car?

brucelidat 08-03-2014 08:03 PM

Man I cannot even imagine how crappy a moment this is.

Yeah, gas pedal died, steering went stuff and I was like f****ck. At least I was on a sidestreet and not on the freeway. Wondering if it's a bad idea to get another OEM pump if that's the problem. I don't think I have much of a choice, though. It's at my mechanic and I don't have time to go find an aftermarket pump to bring to him to get it replaced quickly. Hopefully, I just had bad luck and my next nissan pump won't fails o quickly.

Fuel pumped changed and car is fine now. Wonder what caused it to die so early.

do you ever drive it until the tank is almost dry? i try to keep mine above 1/4 tank at all times. half-full is what i prefer, but sometimes you just run out of time in a day
